1. You stood up for Allah, leaving no tyrants
Or those who strayed from the right path.

2. You struggled for Allah among people who went astray and were blind
To seeing the truth, the one with the brilliant dawn and lightning.

3. You were given mighty victory by Him, so the next day
The children of victory were in dire straits and distress.

4. You fought them a fierce battle in their dwellings
So you returned with victory at the rise of a joyful dawn.

5. You attacked and killed them,
Granting power over their souls and bodies.

6. With your sword, how many necks have you collared
With necklaces of carnelian and silver beads.

7. And from your spear you quenched their livers
With the draft of a deathly stab intoxicated with demise.

8. You attacked them with an army like lions, they surged
In battle, raging like tumultuous waves.

9. When you unsheathed your sword, you destroyed their armies
So every lion among them met his ruin and extinction.

10. You subjugated their souls, destroyed their souls
Severing their heads in the meadows and thickets.

11. You broke their power, weakened their strength
Removed their joy with the bright Indian sword.

12. You cut down their trees, destroyed their homes
Extinguished their fires, even the sparks.

13. You orphaned their children, widowed their women
Who became destitute after luxury and delight.

14. You raided them three times and were granted victory
And your victory diffused a sweet fragrance.

15. By what preceded, had they taken heed,
They would not have fought you or been so ignorant.

16. You made the day of their slaughter a feast day
And you abstained from leaving survivors.

17. You sacrificed them justly, and proclaimed—
God is greatest, sincerely and loudly.

18. You sent their heads to Akka,
A true pilgrimage of the best pilgrimages.

19. You watered the thirsty land with their blood
When it was most desperately parched.

20. You washed the white swords as they rusted
And with them you extinguished the spear’s heat.

21. With their flesh you fed the beasts, saying—
Come beasts, rise up, hurry, and dig in!

22. O you lion, your hunting grounds
Still extend to plunge into valleys and thickets.

23. Thus always, his proof against his enemies
With swords and irrefutable arguments.

24. Thus always, the banners of his victory
Flying for conquest over all lands.

25. I congratulate you, son of glory, for the honor
Of defeating enemies, so ignorant and unjust.

26. The blessing of victory and divine support—seize them!
Good reward and relief from burden and distress.

27. Now you return to the homelands joyfully
With a relieved chest, free of worry and distress.

28. In a procession of glory and nobility that serves you
As the star of fortune rises high in the sky.

29. Greetings and peace in good health.
Free from worries, relieved of distress.

30. No branch has inclined, no east wind has blown,
No leaves have sung, displaying their finest tremors.

31. No meadows have bloomed, no flowers have boasted
To the dwellings, in the tongue of fragrance and basil.
