1. You, with your valor and generosity, are nobly honored,
And as a conquering hero, firm and vanquishing foe, exalted.

2. You attack the enemies in every battle,
So they see you as a rumbling, raging army.

3. You unleash Yemeni wrath upon the foes
And stab the enemies with a sharp, brown spear.

4. The beasts of the forest flee from you in fear,
And greatly regret having met you.

5. For you make them drink a draught of terror
Like lethal poison flowing through them, destroying and annihilating.

6. An arrogant army came to meet you,
And you stormed them like a raging wolf.

7. With a brave army like roaring lions,
Most adept at breaching the fray of war.

8. One a vicious lion, the other snarling,
Their fangs bared on the day of strife, undeterred.

9. Charging the flank of the heavily armed,
Ancient warriors, firmly holding their posts.

10. You met the Syrian army amidst war,
Standing on one leg, the other aflame.

11. And you struck terror deep in their ribs,
Exposing their limbs in dire distress.

12. You inflicted on them pillage, captivity and havoc,
And gained great spoils - what spoils!

13. Herding all their captives like sheep
To Aqaba, with its advancing glory.

14. With the breath of the lion of the forest, valorous Qusura,
And the help of the lion of the forest against all aggressors.

15. Greatest statesman among all people,
With honor like the loftiest, and God as his ally.

16. Brother of glory, Abdullah sun of the exalted,
Their pride truly, without presumption.

17. May his Lord continue to grant him victory and triumph
And make him victorious over all enemies.

18. You have now returned to Aqaba triumphantly
While you, the delight of eyes, smile serenely.

19. With a glorious procession unmatched before,
Radiant with a smile that glows and dazzles.

20. The cosmos hailed you with purity and joy:
"You have come to Aqaba at the best time!"

21. I congratulate you on what you obtained, O glory everlasting,
With a pearl of a poem, ingeniously composed.

22. Remain in God's protection, Majestic is He,
With lasting honor and bounty, and peace!

23. As long as the meadowlark sings her song,
Trilling the sweetest melodies.
