الخلق يا صاح معدوم ومفقود

1. The creation, O friend, is transient and lost
And nothing endures except your existing Lord

١. الخَلقُ يا صاحِ مَعدومٌ وَمَفقودُ
وَلا يَدومُ سِوى مَولاكَ موجودُ

2. Who in the world persists and remains in it
If it were so, it would have been for the best of creation an eternity

٢. مَنْ ذا المخلَّدُ في الدّنيا يَدومُ بها
لَو كانَ كانَ لِخيرِ الخلقِ تخليدُ

3. Have you not seen the honor of creation has departed
And all of them are laid in the earth's bosom buried

٣. هَلّا رَأَيت كِرامَ الخلقِ قَد ذَهَبوا
وَكلّهم ضِمنَ جَوفِ الأَرضِ مَلحودُ

4. Then where, where are the honorable sons gone
And where, where are the proud kings and the hunter

٤. فَأَينَ أَين البنون الكِرام مَضوا
وَأَينَ أينَ المُلوك الغرّ والصِّيدُ

5. And since ruins have no permanence for them
It is no wonder if the palace remained not

٥. وَحيثُ أَن البَرايا لا بَقاءَ لَهم
فَلا عَجيب إِذا لم يبقَ خرشيدُ

6. Muhammad whose traits were recited among people
With Surat Al-Hamd while he is forever praised

٦. مُحمَّدٌ تُلِيَت في النّاسِ سيرَتهُ
بِسورةِ الحَمدِ وَهوَ الدّهرَ مَحمودُ

7. He certainly embodied in character and in manners
And he is indeed born of the best of goodness

٧. لَقَد تَجَسَّم مِن حُسنٍ وَمِن أَدب
وَإِنّه مِن سنيِّ الحسنِ مَولودُ

8. And he was among the pearls of time a jewel
With it for the excellent Most High an eternity bound

٨. وَكانَ في دُررِ الأَوقاتِ جوهرةً
بِها لِجيد العُلى في الدّهرِ تَقليدُ

9. Unique with it the necklace of perfection adorned
And with it in prose excellently composed

٩. فَريدة وَبِها عقد الكمالِ حلا
وَاِزدانَ وَهوَ بها في النّظمِ مَنضودُ

10. In beauty of character and brilliant mein
And his beauty in gentle nature extended

١٠. في حُسنِ خلقٍ بِسمتٍ راقَ رَونَقه
وَحسنهُ بِرَقيقِ الطّبعِ مَمدودُ

11. Refined, perfect, his traits so sweet
And among the gently mannered and cultured counted

١١. مُهذَّب كامل تَحلو خَلائِقهُ
وَفي ذَوي اللّطفِ وَالآدابِ مَعدودُ

12. Gentle in speech, bitter in earnest, correct his judgement
Sweetly humorous, from it honey exudes

١٢. عَذب الحَديثِ وَمرّ الجد صائبه
حُلو الفكاهَةِ مِنها الشهدُ مَشهودُ

13. The intrepid horseman and courageous warrior
None can match should he don his coat of mail

١٣. الفارِسُ الفَحلُ وَالهِلقامُ مُجتَرِئاً
مَن لا يُضاهيهِ أَن لَوْ صَال صنديدُ

14. The weapon of the Dar Al-Wizarah without peer
And the like of him time made inexistent and lost

١٤. سِلاح دارِ وَزير لا نَظير لَهُ
وَمثلهُ الدهرَ مَعدومٌ وَمَفقودُ

15. Brother of leadership, Abdullah in nobility
Whose glory earned him support in honor

١٥. أَخو السّيادَةِ عبد اللَّهِ في شَرفٍ
مَن مَجدهُ نالَها بالعزِّ تَأييدُ

16. The sun of ministry that neither declined nor set
And he attained it in abundant honor an eternity

١٦. شَمس الوِزارَةِ لا زَالَت ولا غَربت
وَنالَها في ثُريّا العزِّ تَأبيدُ

17. The fierce lion, the warrior rending asunder
The mere report of his might overthrows mountains

١٧. الضّيغم الأَسد الضّرغام مُفترساً
مِن صيتِ سَطوتِهِ تُردى الصناديدُ

18. The sea of bounty and generosity whose open-handedness
Had it not been none would have known generosity

١٨. بَحر النّدى وَالسّخا مَنْ جودُ راحَتِهِ
لَو لَم يَكُن لَم يَكن قَد يُعرف الجودُ

19. And he is blissful, through him his followers prospered
So through him the fortunate Chersheid felicitous

١٩. وَهوَ السّعيد بِهِ أَتباعه سَعِدوا
فَفيهِ تابعه خرشيد مسعودُ

20. His Lord called him to Paradise to settle it
He obeyed and in the matter he did not hesitate

٢٠. دَعاهُ مَولاهُ لِلفِردَوسِ يَسكُنها
لَبّى وَما عِندهُ في الأَمرِ تَرديدُ

21. And set out to the gardens of immortality seeking them
And found them the very gardens he sought

٢١. وَسارَ نَحوَ جِنانِ الخُلدِ يَقصِدُها
وَجَدَّ وَهوَ لَهُ الجنّات مقصودُ

22. And settled therein lofty palaces sublime
Adorned with bracelets of topaz erected

٢٢. وَحَلَّ فيها قُصوراً قَد سَمَت وَعَلَت
وَزانَها مَع حُلى التّرصينِ تَشييدُ

23. With Paradise of eternity and most delights through it
Did Chersheid gain content in fortune

٢٣. بِجنَّةِ الخلدِ مَع أَسنى النّعيمِ بِها
أَرخت حُبّاً بِطيب فازَ خرشيدُ

24. Upon him the Lord of the Throne, our Master, bestowed favor
And he attained acceptance without limits

٢٤. عَلَيه أَهمى إِلاهُ العَرشِ سيّدُنا
وَبلَ الرِّضاءِ وَلا يعروهُ تَحديدُ

25. Through all time and wherever the breeze of morn blew
And upon the branch the warbler sang his refrain

٢٥. مَدى الزّمانِ وَما هَبَّت نَسيم صبا
وَقامَ في الغصنِ ورق وَهوَ غرّيدُ

26. Whether lightning shone or a star of heaven appeared
Whether the sun rose or shadow extended

٢٦. ما البَرقُ لاحَ وَما نَجمُ السّماءِ بَدا
ما الشّمسُ قَد طَلَعت ما الظلُّ مَمدودُ

27. In reminder and admonition Al-Fateh said
The creation, O friend, is transient and lost

٢٧. ما الفَتحُ قَد قالَ تَذكيراً وَمَوعِظَةً
الخلق يا صاحِ مَعدومٌ وَمَفقودُ
