1. He saw my heart's wound from the arrows of his eyelashes
So an eloquent one deemed me worthy of calamity
١. رَأى جُرحَ قَلبي مِن سِهامِ جُفونِهِ
فَقالَ بَليغٌ موجبٌ للبوارِ
2. And he wanted me dead in secret
Yet, by God, he smelled me with the musk of chastity
٢. وَقَد رامَ قَتلي أَن أَموت سِرايةً
فَشَممني وَاللّه مِسك العذارِ
