1. The sublime have arrived, welcome, at ease, greeted
Beirut has lit up from every side with you, O Badr, honoring it in the beauty of a procession

2. And we have not heard the like of it in processions
You were like the full moon among its stars

3. The like of the full moon is scarce among planets
It boasted with you of honor, pride, and competed

4. at the top of its glory with the highest of ranks
And you, O Ali, sublime in your glory

5. and supremacy was yours, the highest of positions
You rose as a minaret, then as fate and position

6. so you have always been lofty of positions
And you attained the finest morals and gentleness

7. and the nobility of character, excellent traits
You have come to this sanctuary, best of arrivals

8. so we attained through it the most honorable of gains
And we flew from joy in it, and indeed we

9. went with it to pride, all paths
Congratulations to us in it, congratulations and pride

10. over all people of the East, then West
You have healed with it hearts and thoughts

11. and you are for healing hearts, sweetest of drinks
Stay in God's safekeeping, appearing from the heights

12. on its auspicious edge, firmest of riders
Happy, praiseworthy, soft living, prosperous

13. safe from calamities, then from troubles
As long as the rose garden chirped in the meadow

14. and showed from its chirping every wonder
