1. His morals are sweeter than safety
And his palm more dewy than crystal

2. If we describe him without naming him
People will say, that’s Abu Al-Yumn

3. He whom even if we didn’t call his name
The world wouldn’t be ignorant of whom we mean

4. I saw you demanding people’s gratitude
Yet you don’t demand reward

5. Passionate for praise and good deeds
And affectionate of virtues and sublimities

6. You are no idle recipient of praise
And every hopeful relies on your generosity

7. Gratitude after generosity is but
A prisoner of generosity before asking

8. You are above praise, and who else
Is above sincere praise but you?

9. And where is gratitude from these grants?
And where is praise from this majesty?

10. Al-Udhri asked about one who spent the night passionate with love
And you have never been devoid of dew

11. You remained filled with the heedlessness of life
A slumbering meadow with outstretched shadows

12. You live on and facilitation is granted for you to live
With renewed attire while time wears out

13. You rejoice in it and its faithful guardian grants you
Praiseworthy consequences at the end of times

14. With your blessings, O Father of Blessings, we reached
The lofty summits of generous traits

15. Happy you are, Happy One, to gain
Days like the days of union

16. The world has indeed become noble through you and days
Have become proud and nights boastful through you

17. So you lived in them donning pride from you
And wearing attire of beauty from you
