1. My excuse for those who do not love glory as a lover
And my pardon for those who do not choose praise as a comrade

2. I turned away from friends other than those of high morals
So I do not yearn as others do yearning

3. I love you as long as the night complained and what a morning of joy complained

When I have someone spurring me to your love as a driver

6. He who fears ruin in his land obeys the purpose

The garb of glory, it surely befits you

8. You are the real truth of highness and praise
When the truth one day necessitates the realities

9. By my life, if I am a man wealth missed
My wealth suffices that through your generosity I trust

10. Hardships have clung to me, woe to them
Do they not know that through your rope I cling?

11. Do you not know that I descend from Happy Yemen
Where glories throng me like penetrating darkness?

12. Did not your sea of generosity suffice me
Did not your mighty glory shelter me a towering shelter?

13. Was not your good opinion a sword for me
Against the enemies, poverty, and the cleaving fate?

14. Indeed your palm was open in generosity and life
None prohibited it except being miserly

15. Your sky is raining, your wind delicate
Your glory dominant, and your glory towering

16. The creation did not cease rising to you
To a bliss no other creation claims

17. When an eminent one competes for a merit
His streams dry up and his companions are few

18. You are centrally positioned in a house of pride
Whose pillars are sincere souls and towering beauties

19. One ancestor built it and another erected
To its like high ambitions rise lofty

20. It reached Sa'eed in Tanookh and others
Orbits of glory fixed to stars adhering

21. By Azhar! If I cast a touch on the full moon
In its splendor it would not blot out the full moon blotting

22. I boast when generosity flows to an extent
A horse bolts ahead of racers racing

23. A youth whose sweet mention scented days
A fragrance nuzzled by tall seeking noses

24. The world was adorned with him, it then faded, and its
Sunsets roamed lost with him and the sunrises

25. His fingers are keys to favors
While they are bolts to misfortunes locking

26. Clouds of generosity none know their downpours
Are they torrents or floods streaming?

27. He blames lavishness in spending his money
Yet the true intentioned one of resolve is truthful

28. By Allah, I do not know, are those promises
Preceding from his kindness or pacts binding?

29. You remained for a returning servant his fortune
And lived for an eternal living not parting

30. Still you are hoped for in the days of your enduring glory
And entrusted upon you are the calamities striking

31. I spoke praise you deserve goodness from it
And it is my nobility that I in praising you speak

32. I have been ennobled by it, and pride is your pride, like
How the juicy scent perfumes the leaking waterskin

33. I do not care if one wakes up bankrupt
When by you he is revived no longer hypocrite

34. Strange newly blossomed praise as if it is
Generous fine scattered light efflorescing

35. It captivates listeners as if with it
A temple or minaret is melodiously chanting

36. It passes by the mouths of reciters as if it is
A draft from the wine of a serving maiden pouring

37. Indeed kindnesses from your hands have encircled me
So for thanking them I have gardens

38. If I do not release my tongue in praising them
Then separation from the sublime and glory is divorce to me
