1. O gentle breeze blowing towards my love's abode,
I wish you'd pass by Najd on your way.

2. Spread word of my affection, deliver my passions,
And in return you'll have my gratitude.

3. Your scent intoxicated me, yes, by God!
When did it last visit these ruins of Hind?

4. If it knew her traces would lead you to me,
You've brought us the happiest of fortunes.

5. Send me a breeze carrying the sweetest scent
Of aromatic herbs or traces of musk.

6. Perhaps a draft by which I was quenched
And the echo alone would suffice me.

7. With a creditor of sorrows driving me
Between rapture and sleepiness.

8. Whenever we yearned, above the pots
We'd shed our tears.

9. My two friends, leave me to my madness and cares!
I'm more deserving of my love and guidance.

10. If not for fear of blame and tears, I wouldn't have
Chosen to stand at the abodes alone.

11. Indeed, with happiness I've come to the
Dwellings where my cloak trails behind me.

12. Amidst gazelles and fawns,
A time of youth, sustenance and leisure,

13. And safety from adversities, as if I
Were the loyal servant of Abdurrazaq's son.

14. For one noble in praise and generosity,
Possessor of the most benevolent character and manners, Najd.

15. Awake, the lofty forever seek refuge in
Him alone, the most resolute and unmatched.

16. Seeker of the noblest goals, he won't
Settle for anything but the utmost determination.

17. Misfortunes are warned of him, the fiercest
Adversary of misfortunes.

18. Who makes his wealth a path to praise
So whatever he touches illuminates and guides.

19. His villages thrive, he sets out to each thriving village,
His call is answered by each delegation.

20. His day in prosperity is a year of downpour
When few remain so generous.

21. Benevolence interceding on behalf of the destitute,
Generosity contagious to the struck with calamities.

22. A hand that enriched the needy until
No seeker of provision remains among the people.

23. He gave before asked, my face did not
Turn dry from his charity, nor my praise run dry.

24. He brought me close in affection though I wasn't
Worthy in this time of such affection.

25. By my life, I knew for certain
That the memory of me would elevate his passion.

26. What I imagined and occupied my thoughts
Was that I had no supplies prepared for him.

27. He surprised me with a cloud pouring from Ali's stream
Starting without lightning or thunder.

28. When neither did he lead me to the disgrace of begging
Nor make me shy with refusal.

29. Indeed, the best favor is free of
Requests, promises, or owes.

30. The nights have bound me to it, neither will
My pact be violated nor its bond undone.

31. By my life, were it not for him, I would still be
Wandering with worries, shunned.

32. Oh son of Abdurrazaq, may you never lack
God's blessings between winks and slumbers.

33. With unrestrained gratitude from each
Tongue till it repeats and makes known,

34. From outstanding steeds over racetracks of glory
And courageous lions on fields of battle.

35. Where the father of Hussein is found
Accompanied by the noblest of the exalted and honored.

36. Possessor of the most praiseworthy position in every
Merit he undertakes and the fiercest discourse.

37. Striking to the core, from his father to the
Finest principles and most generous ancestor.

38. Can the generosity of your palm match
My efforts to repay you however I try?

39. So I will reward you with praise but alas!
I will only accomplish as much as I can.

40. If my poetry has extolled your virtues
And I was granted bounties from your generosity.

41. Then indeed, they were safely entrusted with
One who will not deny kindness out of ingratitude.

42. With faces like the stars, steeds
Competing in splendor and rapture.

43. Racing ahead of riders and convoys, challenging
Calamities to a contest in which you always win.

44. Remaining as monuments from which
No honor bestowed upon them by the past will fade.

45. If unveiled to singers, they'd surpass
The vaunted of every ensemble.

46. So treasure them as precious wealth, for the best
Riches are those untouched by loss.

47. Oh son of Abdurrazaq, may you never lack
God's blessings between winks and slumbers.
