1. Abu Al-Yumn, let Yemen boast of him,
Boast of him forever, for all time.
١. أَمّا أَبُو الْيُمْنِ فَلْتَفْخَرْ بِهِ اليمَنُ
وَالْفَخْرُ وَالدَّهْرُ وَالأَيّامُ وَالزَّمَنُ
2. He surpassed all people in nobility and generosity,
It is no wonder that the beautiful are beautiful.
٢. فاقَ الأَنامَ عَلاءً والْكِرامَ نَدىً
وَلَيْسَ مُسْتَنكَراً أَنْ يَحْسُنَ الْحَسَنُ
3. He is the whitest, brightest, blossoming,
His favors cannot be repaid, though one tries.
٣. أَغَرُّ أَزْهَرُ فَيّاضٌ لَهُ مِنَنٌ
لا تَسْتَقِلُّ بِأَدْنى شكْرِها الْمُنَنَ
4. Generosity became exiled until it settled in his hand,
So generosity has no home but his palm.
٤. تَغَرَّبَ الْجُودُ حَتّى حَلَّ فِي يَدِهِ
فَلَيْسَ لِلْجُودِ إِلا كَفَّهُ وَطَنُ
