1. When illness overwhelmed me,
And exhaustion overtook me,

2. I sought refuge with the Messenger of Allah, Taha,
Merciful of heart, in his hand lies healing.

3. My sickness left me at his gentle touch,
And my illness receded when the cure arrived,

4. So whoever gains his favor gains success,
And whoever earns his grace attains elevation.

5. O Messenger of Allah, may afflictions after this,
Neither descend upon me nor bring harm.

6. And forbid that I should say in my distress,
O Messenger of Allah, fate has constricted me.

7. For whoever relies on you hopes for all good,
And whoever enjoys your blessings, generosity overflows.

8. Reward me, O Messenger of Allah, for I am faithful,
And the faithful deserves loyalty.

9. And reach me and my children and family,
With your gaze in which lies delight.

10. And be for me, in your protection, the best refuge,
When enemies rouse them to enmity.

11. For if you look, all people to me,
Apart from the Guide and his family, are insignificance.

12. And if you show tenderness, then my state is a state,
And my life will not part from serenity.

13. For you are righteousness in generosity and righteousness,
An ocean from which the thirsty draw water.

14. And the refuge of one who hopes, if fate is unkind,
And the refuge of one who seeks protection in you is hope.

15. May Allah send blessings upon you whenever
The stars of night shine or the daylight gleams,

16. And on your family and those who supported and sheltered,
And accompanied, for their excellence has no end.
