1. Umm Abd al-Aziz died and departed
To permanent bliss to enjoy delight

2. She left us a martyr and turned
Like her father al-Husayn in Muharram

3. I was pleased with her in life but
The cup of fate, obligatory drink, passed

4. Thus thus we walk one after another
But righteousness in the walk precedes

5. May God's mercy and Islam be upon her
In eternal gardens of supreme value

6. Weeping and labor bring only sickness
The cup of death, so barren is fate

7. My life near her was sweet
And tomorrow now is like aloes and colocynth

8. My state and hers were in splendor
And now I see that was presumption
