1. I stood weeping at the door of the Generous One
For my enormous sins and transgressions

2. My heart is anxious and my plentiful tears flow
Like pouring rain in harmony

3. But my good thoughts of You led
To my hopes of fulfilling my wish

4. So I stretched out my palm in humility
With humility, poverty, and modesty

5. May You grant me from the abundance of Your grace
Forgiveness for my terrible wrongdoing

6. And ease my heart with guidance, so my heart
Is an ally of passion from intense yearning

7. And overlook the sins that burdened me
And kept me from the honorable people

8. And spread in the wilderness the scent of my remembrance
And grant me acceptance forever

9. And do not cut off my hope in You, for I am
Surrounded by prayers and fasting

10. And with wealth multiply my share to become
Wealthy with the lawful, needing no sin

11. So my envier perishes in my lasting glory
And bites his lip before all people

12. My God, I will not be wronged while You are my strength
And I do not fear the snakes of the oppressors

13. For You have accustomed me to glory and victory
As You have raised me in rank

14. How much grace and favor You have bestowed
Like waves of the sea or gusts of cloud

15. So my Master, I cannot enumerate praise
For Your magnificent, splendid favors

16. I spent my youth in much glory
With all people witnessing my esteem

17. It would be shameful if I were wronged and my hair
Has become light with the radiance of old age

18. Exalted are You, O God, except to show me
A lasting glory with a good ending

19. And to intercede for me the best of creation, Taha
The Messenger of God on the Day of Assembly

20. Upon him the prayers of God as long as
The stars of night shine with the purest greetings
