1. The law has a sword with a heavy blow
With it, it tore apart ambitions and dreams

١. للشرع سيف شديد الوقع بتار
فكم به مزّقت هام وأوتار

2. The letter Shin has jagged teeth in its script
As if it were a saw in the realm of cutting

٢. للشّين في الرّسم أسنان محدّدة
كأنها في مجال القطع منشار

3. So whoever belittled the law
Had a constricted life and hellfire afterwards

٣. فمن رأى الشرع بالتحقير كان له
في العيش ضيق وفى الأخرى له النار

4. And if the star rose above the ambitions
The most high will inevitably collapse it one day

٤. وإن علا فوق هام النجم مقعده
لا بد يوما به العلياء تنهار

5. So the despisers of the law are in hardship and disgrace
Even if they flew with the wing of money

٥. فمبغضو الشرع في ضيق وفي ضعة
وإن هم بجناح المال قد طاروا

6. And whoever humbled themselves to the noble law
The high values were attained by them, and sorrows removed

٦. ومن تواضع للشرع الشريف سعت
له المعالى وزالت عنه أكدار

7. And the world came to them with all its abundance
And among the Hur al-Ayn of paradise, they can choose

٧. وأقبلت نحوه الدنيا بزخرها
وفي النعيم لحور الخلد يختار

8. That is why the people of guidance and merit served
The law of the Prophet, and in raising it they walked

٨. لذاك أهل الهدى والفضل قد خدموا
شرع النبي وفي إعلائه ساروا

9. All took from the decisive Quran
And with the hadith of the Messenger of God they revolved

٩. فالكل من محكم القرآن قد أخذوا
ومع حديث رسول الله قد داروا

10. They are the imams whose lights do not fade
For they are moons in the sky of merit

١٠. هم الأئمة لا تخبو أشعتهم
لأنهم في سماء الفضل أقمار

11. They are the guides for those who settle and those who travel
They are the kings, and through them the neighbor feels safe

١١. هم الهداة لمن حلوا ومن رحلوا
هم الملوك بهم يستأمن الجار

12. In life they have preference and honor
And in death they have glory and commemoration

١٢. ففى الحياة لهم فضل وتكرمة
وفي الممات لهم شأن وتذكار

13. This is Ibn Idris, the vast ocean of knowledge
Al-Shafi'i, he has traces in the law

١٣. هذا ابن إدريس حبر العلم واسعه
الشافعي له في الشرع آثار

14. Through him the pillars of Sharia stood upright
And protections for it stood like a house's walls

١٤. به الشريعة قد قامت دعائمها العل
يا وقام لها كالبيت أسوار

15. He often strived in spreading knowledge even when
Poverty and deprivation did not prevent him from that

١٥. وطالما جد في نشر العلوم ولم
يمنعه عن ذاك إعسار وإقتار

16. Until his school of thought shone like the dawn
In it, there is light and secrets of the law

١٦. حتى تجلى كنور الصبح مذهبه
وفيه للشرع أنوار وأسرار

17. And how often he avoided sleeping places
And journeys did not distract him from learning

١٧. وكم تجافى تجنب عن مضاجعه
ولم تعقه عن التحصيل أسفار

18. He stood with knowledge and teaching since childhood
And he was never a youth except a daring one

١٨. وقام بالعلم والتعليم من صغر
فلم يكن شب إلا وهو مغوار

19. From him, Malik saw brilliance in knowledge
So he acknowledged his merits

١٩. منه رأى مالك في العلم نابغة
فكان منه له بالفضل إقرار

20. And the two companions bore witness to his merits
And they are just, pious, and good

٢٠. والصاحبان له بالفضل قد شهدا
وهم عدول وأحبار وأخيار

21. An ocean whose waves clash on its coast
A sweet Euphrates in it the streams of merit flow

٢١. بحر تلاطم بالأمواج ساحله
عذب فرات به للفضل تيّار

22. The ship of knowledge sails on its turbulence
Its sail is the law, no storms can twist it

٢٢. سفينه العلم تجرى فوق لجّته
شراعها الشرع لا تلويه إعصار

23. With parables this Imam was described
So that travellers walked by them in merit

٢٣. هذا الإمام به الأمثال قد ضربت
في الفضل حتى بها الركبان قد ساروا

24. His virtues marked Ursa Major in nobility
And some books and pages contained part of it

٢٤. سمت مناقبه الجوزاء في شرف
وقد حوى بعضها كتب وأسفار

25. So talk without shyness about his morals
For his abundant rain of benevolence flows

٢٥. فعن مكارمه حدث ولا حرج
فغيثه الجم بالإحسان مدرار

26. His scope is vast, and his court has support
For it is a race track to seize honor

٢٦. جاه عريض وأمداد بساحته
لأنها لاغتنام العز مضمار

27. So many prominent people circumambulated his Kaaba
And so many visitors came to it from all regions

٢٧. فكم بكعبته طافت جهابذة
وكم أتاها من ألأقطار زوّار

28. Egypt was ennobled by him and the Ahl al-Bayt
For they are the masters of the brave and the pure

٢٨. مصرٌ به وبآل البيت قد شرفت
لأنهم سادة غر وأطهار

29. No anxious weary person comes to their court
Unless they win what they hope for and choose

٢٩. لا ينزل الخائف العاني بساحتهم
إلا وفاز بما يرجو ويختار

30. From among them, Islam emerged and spread
In the universe, its light and the right of truth shone

٣٠. من بينهم ظهر الإسلام وانتشرت
في الكون منه وحق الحق أنوار

31. The kings of the world willingly bowed to their might
For they are the center and all else are peripheries

٣١. دانت ملوك الورى طوعا لعزتهم
لأنهم مركز والكل أقطار

32. O judge of the law, you have accustomed us to generosity
And here are our hands longing

٣٢. يا قاضيَ الشرع قد عودتنا كرما
وهذه يدنا للفضل تمتار

33. So fill our hands with the generosity you were given
For in your hands are secrets from the Merciful

٣٣. فاملأ يدينا بما أوتيت من كرم
ففي يديك من الرحمن أسرار

34. You have abundant favors and support
And from you the guest gets honor and greatness

٣٤. وأنت للكرم الفياض ذو مدد
ومنك للضيف إكرام وإكبار

35. Every year from your sea of favors we have
An abundance, merit, and this gathering is a commemoration

٣٥. في كل عام لنا من بحر أنعمكم
فيض وفضل وهذا الجمع تذكار

36. For God stood a group who served Him
They are candles and they are moons of the feast

٣٦. لله في فئة قاموا بخدمته
فهم شموش وهم للحفل أقمار

37. O Lord, fulfill for the whole group their needs
For You are in all things the Doer and the Chooser

٣٧. يا رب بلغ جميع القوم طلبتهم
فأنت في الكل فعال ومختار

38. And turn towards our gathering and forgive its lapse
For You alone are the Accepter of Repentance and the Forgiver

٣٨. وتب على جمعنا واغفر مزلّته
فأنت وحدك تواب وغفّار
