1. Today Mustafa was lost from the youth
So weep and say no more joy or clarity

2. O elite of the virtuous, your leader has died
So don the clothes of mourning, folded

3. O group of comrades who mourned him
Far be it, the long era forgets Mustafa

4. O Egypt mourn and commiserate the banner of sorrow
Mustafa died, who revived consciousness and did not sleep

5. He died, who instilled steadfastness in us wisely
And brought out its branches so it was fruitful

6. He died, who repelled plots with his resolve
And attacked the army of enemies, so he stopped them

7. His aim never deviated from the paths of glory
No, nor did he ride the passions blindly

8. He was neither weak, nor disgraced, nor
Did the horror of positions terrify his resolve

9. Egypt bore him, and he was born in it
Yearning, and he was eager for its glory

10. So death assaulted him violently
Before reaping the fruits and plucking them

11. Your sheikh's death makes you tearful, o brave nation
None were more compassionate and merciful to you than him

12. Every one from the calamity is saying
He lived beloved and died honored

13. This is the soaked glory which
Was once denied but became known

14. O best of those pleased with skillful palms
And excellent in describing meanings, articulate

15. He benefited the sons of the countries with his knowledge
When he dedicated himself to science and authored

16. O sword-like Egypt, after your death you became
Bereaved, and you lost a clear plain from him

17. You realized during his deathbed his sorrow
So he bequeathed the rights, recognizing

18. That valiance, we knew no equal since
His body was made a target for destruction

19. O group of brothers, after his passing
Speak of the world and what is in it with indifference

20. O you who lies in the belly of the grave
And who in the garb of death is enshrouded

21. You were an insightful writer in the press
You were a sharp sword in rhetoric

22. You were a blossoming garden in wisdom
You were sufficient rain in politics

23. You were blossoming in the prime of your youth
Why did your branch wither and dry?

24. Your voice roared in the kingdoms
If you spoke, they said we have heard the most eloquent

25. The heroes of politics and argument feared you
And sought justice, and so they said "justice!"

26. You promised us the liberation of Egypt and its people
Why did you not fulfill? For your trait is faithfulness

27. The pulpits cry for you humbly
And for you melted sorrow and regret

28. O you who applies himself, why are you silent?
How long will this silence last? Is it not enough?

29. Rise and moisten your pulpit which you accustomed
To excellent speech, and souls are on the verge

30. And roar with your matter, o guardian, for we
Are all sick, and you are for us the cure of sickness

31. O full moon, you have fallen from your horizon
Is it not time to erase your light and eclipse you?

32. Did you resent us, o guardian, staying with us?
Or did you gloat over us with aloofness?

33. Or did the invitation to persevere weary you
To straighten the crooked and return the wavering?

34. Or did conversing with them satisfy you, so you came
To preach to them gently and kindly?

35. Or did your soul long for the realm of the most high
So you entered investigating and exploring?

36. If this is what you want, then join us
And return, and talk to us, for ambiguity has departed

37. O people, wait! Hark! It is as if I
Hear from the east a caller

38. He said: O people, calm down and regain yourselves
Everyone dies, so no fleeing or hiding

39. And trust in your Master, and do not separate
For separation, how much it humiliates and weakens

40. And build upon what was built, and construct
For the drops become a flood, if you construct

41. I was one individual, so I opposed
Those who ruled the country unjustly and aggressed

42. And today you are all men, so be chivalrous
The protectors are those who follow a protector's trace

43. If Mustafa died among you, then altogether
After my death, o virtuous ones, you are Mustafas

44. And make use, o members of my party, of your wisdom
For wisdom, how much it gathers hearts and unites

45. And hold fast to the firm rope, and fulfill
The pact, for the pact will ask about fulfillment

46. So I regained myself and said to his grave
After he scattered the discourse and clarified

47. O grave, tell me in your right and cure me
You honored his resting place and celebrated

48. So he answered me, enjoying bliss
And he climbed the palace of bliss, decorated

49. The houris and boys stood around him
Each asking him for satisfaction, appeasing

50. With righteous deeds he has come
So his Master rewarded him with bliss and sufficiency

51. So I praised his consequence and abode
And I prayed to my Lord to perpetuate serenity for him

52. And I held back my tears, then said to my friends
This is eternal bliss, so it is enough
