1. I turned my face towards you, O Tibah, hoping for your gaze
O best of those from whom intercession is awaited

2. I turned my face towards Tibah, while my heart is filled
With longing, tears pouring down gently

3. I turned my face to Tibah, hoping
For your acceptance, that I may succeed and travel

4. And upon you I hope to pray as a Muslim
And upon Abu Bakr and his companion Omar

5. And upon your noble companions, and those after them
From your pure, brilliant family

6. Perhaps you might say, when I come: "Welcome!
Enter in peace, for the Guardian has forgiven"

7. And descend upon the vast hospitality, for I
Honor with nobility those who came to our assembly

8. And provide the guests with all generosity
And kindness from me, in residence and travel

9. O Master of both worlds, best of creation
O you upon whom the clouds poured peace and stones

10. O you whose light of majesty and beauty
Dazzled faces, you for whom the moon split

11. Were it not for you, I would not have left for a moment
And left my family busy and worried

12. I used to fear the sea, fearing a protector
And saw it as the key to fears and danger

13. But I sailed upon it for the ship
Of pilgrimage, when I saw, by your truth, no other choice

14. It split through the sea waves, like
The clouds splitting the sky, with no rain

15. As if Noah himself was guiding its course
And it anchored safely, how smooth was its sailing!

16. Then I embarked upon the ship of land which
With its speed competed with the proud

17. It cut through every barren plain
Devoid of water or trees in sight

18. The sand leapt up in flames
As if it threw out sparks

19. While through some of it spring water flowed
Gushing from solid rock that burst open

20. Glory to He who created all matters with wisdom
Exalted is His will, transcendent His power

21. And I saw the mirage as if it were
Water on the earth's face, an illusion for the thirsty

22. But the steamers folded up their carpets
Like closing a register in the blink of an eye

23. To you the visitors' faces turn
With hearts toward your sanctuary, having left family

24. Until the dome of Tibah appeared
Where the best of creation, most noble, resides

25. In it is generosity, nobility, and purity
In it the chosen Prophet, best of mankind

26. In it the scent of Prophet Muhammad thrives
In it is attainment, nearness, from early dawn

27. O soul this is the sweetest spring
So brush aside disquiet and expand your chest

28. And draw from it and with it take provision
For the Guardian has commanded such provision

29. None who frequent it will suffer thirst, hunger
Poverty or harm, not the slightest woe

30. O soul, with the Prophet's immense grace and wealth
He commanded, and none can oppose his command

31. O eye, so revel in his lights
O heart, heal yourself, for your bliss has appeared

32. He whose face and essence
Spread the light of joy throughout existence

33. He quenched the thirst of hundreds, nay thousands
Who filled up the water-skins, group after group

34. O you who ascended above the seven heavens
Until you reached the Lote-Tree of the Limit

35. Upon you five prayers have been enjoined
For which we receive light at dawn

36. And you returned to Mecca, your steed
Like a lightning bolt in the open desert

37. The angels served you, while you are the exalted
Look upon us with care and pleasure

38. For all find honor in you as their refuge
You are the hoped for, the perfect reserve

39. You, without whom the heavens would not have been created
Nor sun to shine, nor moon to light

40. The earth would not exist, nor her water
Gushing, nor would clouds rain down

41. Jinn would not be created, nor Adam
Upright man in existence, not a trace

42. My Master, before you stands praising Ahmad
My whole body shudders in awe of you

43. Tears flow in dread and reverence
My heart breaks from the excess of weeping

44. I have defiled myself with sins, and found
No ocean save you to cleanse me of filth

45. So take me under your care and veil my faults
For the noble one covers flaws when he sees them

46. And accept my visit though I am a sinner
Grant me welcome, coupled with gentle gaze

47. And extend your right hand in greeting graciously
For you give acceptance to even those who err

48. My Master, be my intercessor on Judgment Day
So I need not say there is no escape from fire

49. And grant my Prophet, brothers and relatives
Excellent care and provision, O righteous one!

50. And bestow upon my family and companions acceptance
And a visit to calm the heart's suffering

51. And look upon my in-laws, loved ones
And the learned masters, moons among men

52. And look upon the visitors to your exalted garden
Who have none but your light while far from you

53. And stroke my breast with the palm that
Healed so much illness and brought forth such good

54. And fill my heart with wisdom and knowledge
And attend to it, O best of creation, as death comes

55. May Allah send blessings upon you, O sun of guidance
And upon your family and companions, for as long as the moon shines

56. Or he said, hoping for a glimpse:
I turned my face to Tibah, hoping for your gaze
