1. I yearn for Medina though passions torment me,
Love's agony has brought me near to ruin.

2. Lack of wealth and chronic illness hinder me,
While love tosses me about and twists me too.

3. If only I could visit the Prophet's tomb,
And beg for mercy in this life and the next.

4. This wish my longing prompts me to declare,
A want I've had since I was first created.

5. Look on me, O Messenger, in my illness,
Your noble gaze alone has power to heal me.

6. Stretch out your hand with kindness to draw me near,
So closeness to your refuge can revive me.

7. Look after my family, my sons and kin,
My brothers, and companions true in faith.

8. This is my hope, which gently I implore-
Hear my call, for this much will suffice me.

9. You are the beloved whose intercession,
All hope to gain on Resurrection Day.

10. As long as ink flows on the leaves of plants,
God send blessings and peace eternally.
