١. ولَيْلَةٍ رَائِقَةِ الْبَهَاءِ
مَشُوبَةِ الظَّلاَمِ بِالضِّياءِ
2. Resembling a blonde maid
In a diaphanous black dress
٢. أَشْبَهَ بِالجَارِيَةِ الْغَرَّاءِ
فِي حُلَّةٍ شَفَّافَةٍ سَوْدَاءِ
3. Whose beauty is subtly revealed
Intoxicated by the breeze and calling
٣. بَادِ جَمَالُهَا عَلَى الْخَفَاءِ
سَكْرَى مِنَ النَّسيمِ وَالأَنَّدَاءِ
4. The ships sailed on the inky sea
With hearts throbbing with hope
٤. جَرَتِ الْفُلكُ عَلَى الدَّأْمَاءِ
خَافِقَةَ الْفُؤَادِ بِالرَّجَاءِ
5. Light as a shadow in the night journey
Showing playfulness on the lips of the water
٥. خَفِيفَةً كالظِّل فِي الإِسْرَاءِ
تُبْدِي افْتِرَاراً فِي ثُغُورِ المَاءِ
6. As if her path were visible
And the stars were watchful eyes
٦. كَأَنَّما طَرِيقُهَا مَرَائِي
وَالشُّهبُ فِيهَا أَعْيُنٌ رَوَائِي
7. In a scene of the world of lights
Where the sea and sky meet
٧. بِمَشْهَدٍ مِنْ عَالَمِ الأَضْوَاءِ
في مُتَرَاءَي البَحرِ وَالسّمَاء
8. The waves carry her with devotion
And the wind urges her on unrestrained
٨. يحمِلُهَا المَوجُ عَلَى الوَلاءِ
وَالرِّيحُ تَحْدُوهَا بِلاَ حُدَاءِ
9. As if the ears were in ecstasy
And time was listening intently
٩. كَأَنَّما الأَسْمَاعُ فِي الأَحْشَاءِ
وَالدَّهْرُ فِي سَكِينةِ الإصْغَاءِ
10. Oh Egypt, home of fortune and bliss
And haven of mysteries and inspiration
١٠. يَا مِصْرُ دَارَ السَّعدِ وَالهَنَاءِ
وَمَهْبَطَ الأَسْرَارِ وَالإِيحَاءِ
11. From this distant admirer
Come the greetings of a loyal heart
١١. عَلَيْكِ مِنْ هَذَا الْمُحِبِّ النَّائِي
سَلاَمُ قَلْبٍ ثَابِتِ الْوَلاَءِ
12. That loves you in good times and bad
١٢. يَهْوَاكِ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرِّاءِ
