1. The sea, how flawless in clarity and glow
How sublime in surge and flow

2. It brought Phoenicia in the old days glory
And what great pride for ancestors to know

3. When no mariner was known amongst all men
No sail beyond the shore was seen to go

4. It opened up great vistas for all knowledge
And revived markets in their ebbs and lows

5. It summoned nations from distant lands
Leaving no place for despair to grow

6. O sea, eternal pride we mirror
Preserve it in all minds that think and know

7. Can we excuse what ancestors let waste
Of glories that were made long ago
