1. Your pure, sincere call untainted by affectation
And praise be, pure and free of insincerity

١. نَدَاكَ صَافٍ خَالٍ مِنَ الرَّنَقِ
وَالحمْدُ صَافٍ خَالٍ مِنَ المَلَقِ

2. O you of white hands, how much right upon me
Is yours, of faithful loyalty around my neck

٢. يَاذَا الأَيادِي البَيْضَاءَ كَمْ لَكَ مِنْ
حَقٍّ عَزِيزِ الوَفَاءِ فِي عُنقِ

3. Who can thank you enough for the easiest gift
You brought of pistachios and of syrup

٣. مِنْ لِي بِشُكْر كَفَاءٍ أَيسرِ مَا
أَهْدَيْتَ منْ فُسّتُقٍ وَمِنْ عَرَقِ

4. Of a fruit, few can rival it
In its kind, in taste and fragrance

٤. مِنْ ثَمَرٍ قَلّ مَا يُنَافِسُهُ
فِي نَوْعِهِ بِالمُذَاقِ وَالعَبَقِ

5. And of a healing, assuaging nectar, I felt secure with it
From Layla's worries and the sleeplessness of night

٥. وَمِنْ رحِيقٍ شَافٍ أَمنْتُ بِهِ
هُمُومَ لَيْلَى وَصوْلَةَ الأَرقِ

6. When we drink the chosen wine of the beloved, the dawn shone for us
At nightfall

٦. إِذَا شَرِبنَا نُخْبَ الحَبِيبِ جَلاَ
لَنَا مُحيَّا الصَّباحِ فِي الغَسقِ

7. And he said in the transmission, he who sits with us
Is of our making in temperament and ethics

٧. وَقَالَ فِي النَّقلِ مَنْ يُنَادِمُنَا
مَنْ كَنِقُولاَ فِي الخَلقِ وَالخُلُقِ
