1. The jihad has granted you the adornment of purity,
Which corrupted souls could not attain in seclusion.
١. صَفِيَّةَ الطُّهْرِ آتَاكَ الجِهَادُ حِلىً
لَمْ تُؤْتِهَا فِي الْخُدُورِ الأَنْفُسُ السُّقَمُ
2. When hearts aspire to that majesty,
Eyes become downcast and humble for death.
٢. إِذَا الْقُلُوبُ إِلَى ذَاكَ الْجَلالِ رَنَتْ
فِلِلْمُنَى أَعْيُنٌ تُغْضِي وَتَحْتَشِمُ
3. You were an exemplar of graceful ladies through
Removing the delusions of a misguided people.
٣. قَدْ كُنْتِ قُدْوَةَ رَبَّاتِ الْجَمَالِ بِمَا
أَزَلْتِ مِنْ زَهْمِ قَوْمٍ سَاءَ مَا وَهَمُوا
4. Her virtues guarded the beautiful faces
When the veils and kisses were discarded.
٤. فَصَانَتِ الأَوْجُهَ الْحُسْنَى فَضَائِلُهَا
مِنْ حَيْثُ أُلْقِيَتِ الأَسْتَارُ واللُّثُمُ
5. For you is eternity in the land of consolation,
Protected by its laws of chastity.
٥. لَكِ الْبَقَاءُ وَفِي مِصْرَ العَزَاءَ بِهِ
حُمَاتُهَا شَرَعٌ فِي الذَّوْدِ وَالحُرَمُ
6. May your shining companion blossom
When the clouds of absence and blindness dissipate.
٦. وَلْيَزْهَرِ الْفَرْقَدُ الْبَاقِي إِذَا حَجَبَتْ
رَفِيقَهُ غَمَرَاتُ الْغَيْبِ وَالسُّدُمُ
7. Does not the shared sorrow of entire nations
Lessen the burden of grief upon you?
٧. أَمَا تُخَفِّفُ عَنِكِ الْحُزْنَ تَأْسِيةٌ
وَالحُزْنُ فِي أُمَمٍ جَمْعَاءَ مُقْتَسَمُ
