1. Ask a bird in a garden
A singing nightingale with fragrant scent

2. Playing and frolicking, fluttering
Amongst the vine leaves in the courtyard

3. Choosing the garden’s sweetest fruits
Or pecking the clearest water

4. Sometimes cooing softly
Amongst the branches where birds dwell

5. And at times swiftly soaring
Through the air taking different paths

6. When it lands, the air calms
Shaking it like a cradle rocks

7. And when it flaps under its wings
Stirs the wave of ether

8. Neither its fortress saves it from the hunter
Nor its refuge from what harms
