5. This is the truth of our state, so realize
From the least I mentioned, my purpose is remote

6. I summarized in my description, yet beneath it
Is an overflowing sadness

7. If you see the delicate cloud, within it is
Hidden flashes and thunder

8. Or if you hear the moaning of a dove, underneath
Are lasting sorrows from hearts

9. I rouse your passions with my complaint
And you wish to hear my recital

10. Does remembering benefit us on the morn of our vigor
That we may make amends for corruption?

11. O our day, if you begin what
We hope, you are the most joyous celebration

12. Freed from desires and hates
Flashing swords gleamed

13. Bared of their sheaths
Fulfilling the wishes tasked with

14. Drawing us close and tearing the envious
Shall we lag grouped in the crowds

15. While the individual among us leads?
Shall each free person of us rule

16. While our masses remain the lowest of the low?
Shall joining strength elude us? And by joining it

17. We ready ourselves for life's firmest support?
Our home is the cradle of advancement, and it pains it

18. That it gains no honor or newborns
It was generous, neither stingy with prosperity, nor

19. With guidance, nor with courage and integrity
That homeland, do you remember its beauty

20. Among the green plains and hills?
Do your dreams restore it? Do your fancies in waking and sleep?

21. As for me, despite the passage of my exile from it
My love for it remains everlasting

22. Its Lebanon, its Damascus, its Bekaa
Its countryside, and the sea are the delight of my heart
