1. You have honored me beyond wishes,
O our leader Jibran, I thank you,
١. أَكْرَمْتَنِي فَوْقَ الْمُنَى
يَا شَيْخَنَا جُبْرَان شُكْرَا
2. That which you have gifted from,
The inspiration of affection, thus became poetry
٢. ذَاكَ الَّذِي أَهْدَيْتَ مِنْ
وَحْيِ الوِدَادِ فَكَانَ شِعْرَا
3. Alas! That I should gift the jewels of poetry,
More precious than it.
٣. هَيْهَاتَ أَنْ أَهْدَتْ بِحَا
رُ الشِّعْرِ أَغْلَى مِنْهُ دُرَّا
4. You have been excessive in all meanings,
My brother, in kindness and righteousness.
٤. أَسْرَفْتَ فِي كُلِّ الْمَعَا
نِي يَا أَخِي فَضْلاً وَبِرّاً
