1. You could not bear to remain, after becoming accustomed,
And you hated life, it became misery,

2. So your aching, troubled heart grew weak,
And you hastened to meet your fate.

3. What can medicine do, if there remains
In the body nothing to aid the medicine?

4. It was thought that loyalty led to destruction, until
People witnessed this loyalty from you.

5. How much we hoped for your recovery, but God
Willed other than what we hoped for recovery.

6. Thus He willed, and the outcome is to Him,
And to Him belongs the command, so let what He willed be.

7. Sadness that the grave should hide a spirit
Angelic and a blossoming flower.

8. Where is that splendor flowing around
That which surrounds it with joy and casts radiance?

9. Where is that generosity satisfying the orphans
And the widows and aiding the weak?

10. Where is that modesty, not of pride
But of highness, and the modesty of that modesty?

11. The schools of knowledge, morals and righteousness knew her,
She does not cease to give.

12. The Prophet's chest would shudder humbly
Whenever she made him laugh, exhaling fragrance.

13. The best of mothers, her absence has stilled
Who will console the daughters and sons?

14. She raised them righteous, and nurtured them
Nobly, proudly, loftily.

15. Singers, surpassing in beauty, perfection, gentleness and intelligence,
And youth - the elite of the youth of the age in knowledge, wisdom and radiance.

16. House of Samaan, that an affliction has befallen you
Is lighter than an affliction which has lightened afflictions.

17. Much weeping would not avail, if it could,
Except she who turned to God

18. Left for the bereaved comfort.
She did not turn away from you, and she left

19. Signs speaking and informing.
Memories guiding to good those who have lost

20. The way, and benefiting the living.
Egypt bid farewell to her bier in a celebration

21. Rarely seen for the great.
And fulfilled the duty of farewell for a merit

22. That the men do not equal the women in.
Neighbor of eternity - in eternity there is no remoteness

23. After the lover attains the meeting.
You won from it good wishes - so benefit from them, rewarded.

24. Indeed, in death and life there is an eternal secret
Perplexing the minds.

25. We are in darkness that grows denser,
And you have surely reached its light.

26. So the calamity, O virtuous one, intensified
For your closest kin and loved ones.

27. Excuse our grief, for we are on the earth
While blessed are you for reaching the heavens.
