1. The Feast of the Quran has arrived,
its lamps blazing bright.

2. The people cry out to the King
and Queen with congratulations,

3. While Egypt’s heart pleads
for the realization of their hopes.

4. The flower of youth, gracious
and sublime in station—

5. God’s care gifted her, the unique pearl.
She appeared as if among humans

6. one of the maidens of Paradise,
Never a stranger, her place

7. is closest in proximity.
In four years their dawn

8. has brilliantly shone,
And their life of contentment

9. increases—their hearts reconciled.
They perfected the ideal of family

10. in the finest example for all to see,
And lit up in that sky

11. like two stars in succession.
Rejoice in this feast and its

12. adornments and songs,
And friends sharing

13. the triplets and octets,
The East from end to end

14. sharing in the joys,
The Nile’s channel—how excellent!—

15. and its two banks.
O you who joined two crowns

16. into the crown of the era’s pioneer
And who honors the two symbols—

17. the sword of Muhammad and the royal insignia—
Have you seen how your people

18. express their joy at the festival?
Have you grasped the meaning of reform

19. when you envision its implications?
Exalt with what you have attained for your Egypt

20. in this brief time,
Revealing how justice

21. has led the servile by the reins,
And how clemency entices

22. the resentful from their hatred,
And how with cultivation

23. the causes of humiliation are selected,
And how the awe of the bared, sharpened sword prevails.

24. And how your planting has produced
selfless benefactions,

25. In every region the signs
of your righteousness and affection were seen.

26. The dispossessed gained their share
of esteem and station,

27. And a portion of livelihood
and clothing and housing.

28. An enemy of a people
assailed them with sharp tongues,

29. But victory is triumph
for dignity, safety, and security.

30. Acts of splendor—
their verses humbled rhetoric’s verses.
