1. You told me tales through the nights,
Of wonders not to be grasped by supposition.

2. Yet they did not reach the heart's longing,
Except that tears flowed from the eyes.

3. May God destroy those whom we trusted,
We befriended them yet they betray.

4. We were bound by a pact they wasted,
Can a firm rope be thus undone?

5. We slept in certainty, yet awoke
Finding our certain faith was gone.

6. My friend, I’ve spent such arduous days
Yet nothing could bring you disgrace.

7. Good deeds interceded for you,
So God, the Helper, interceded for you.

8. You saw how truth prevails,
And the end of the aggressor comes to pass.
