1. You fulfilled your jihad for the hereafter
So rest from the life of this world and its slumber

2. You attained your goal early
And reached your intended purpose

3. My grief for you, as illness took hold
And weakened your body in its grasp

4. The evening battles it
As your leadership remained under its control

5. And destruction works upon you
Drawing near and stealing your sleep

6. Melting your strength away
And softening your heart

7. O you who saddened your loved ones
With your distance, I cry for your absence

8. Intentions changed, apart from longing
Except the heart - its place is with you

9. You sought from your fate great deeds
As much as you could, but to no avail

10. Only for arrows to make their mark
And overcome your heart

11. So you began hunting ideas
From their hiding places, catching them

12. And shaping that unique expression
In its solitary form, in your isolation

13. You were no deceiver, no falsehood
Ever tainted your affection

14. No, you never opposed anyone
Though you ignited your flints

15. You always placed your trust
In the Most Merciful, through adversities

16. And by praising Taha and the Companions
You made goodness your return
