٤٣. تِلكَ آياتُ فَضْلِهِ إِذْ لَهُ
التَّقْدِيمُ بَيْنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالتَّبْجِيلُ

44. To seek undue veneration is a wrong
That deserves stern punishment

٤٤. وَالوَجَاهَاتُ لاَ تَكُونُ وَجَاهَا
تٍ صِحَاحاً حَتَّى يَقُومَ الدَّلِيلُ

45. Who corrupts order and provokes tyranny
Is truly the miserly one

٤٥. هَلْ سِجِلٌّ لِلْفَخْرِ إِلاَّ وَفِيهِ
لاسْمِهِ فِي افْتِتَاحِهِ تَسْجِيلُ

46. The most despicable nation is that in which
The destitute pauper is given excuses

٤٦. منَحَتهُ المُلُوكُ أَلقَابَهَا
العُلْيَا وَفِي قَدْرِهِ لَهَا تَأْهِيلُ

٤٧. مِنَحٌ كُرِّرَتْ فَسَرَّتْ كَمَا كُرِّ

٤٨. أَيُّ مَجْدٍ لِمِثْلِهِ فَوْقَ هَذَا

Who takes pipe and timbrel music lightly?

٥٥. لَكِنِ النْفسُ آثَرَتْ لَكَ أُنْساً
فِي السَّجَايَا لَهَا بِهِ تَكْمِيلُ

While making it up is misguidance

٥٦. فَتَوَاضَعْ للهِ شُكْراً عَلَى أَنَّكَ
فَرْدٌ فِي الجِيلِ يَفْدِيهِ جِيلُ

٥٧. وَعَلَى أَنَّ جَوهَرَ الأُنْسِ لَمَّا
حَلَّ فِي الإِنْسِ كَانَ فِيكَ الحُلُولُ

58. You have been replaced by death with eternity
In bliss and the love of an excellent substitute

٥٨. كُلُّ دِينٍ قِوَامُهُ بِرَسُولٍ
وَلِكُلٍ مِنَ السَّجَايَا رَسُولُ

59. So console, O nation that has lost
Its cheerful, esteemed leader

٥٩. أَنْتَ أَنْتَ النَّبِيلُ لاَ يَدَّعِي مَا
لَيْسَ فِيهِ مَا كُلُّ مُثْرٍ نَيِبلُ

60. And console, O best wife, aggrieved
For the remainder of her life without the companion

٦٠. أَنْتَ فِي كُلِّ حَلْبَةٍ صَاحِبُ السَّبْقِ
وَقَدْ تَعْرِفُ الكُمَاةَ الخُبُولُ

61. And console, O you two who have lost the best company
For after him, you have a lasting future

٦١. فِي مَدَى جُودِكَ الصَّوَافِنُ تَجْرِي
وَثَنَاءٌ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهَا الصَّهِيلُ

62. And console, O friends, for a brother you promoted
Who was an excellent comrade

٦٢. إِنَّ فِي صَهْوَةِ الجِيَادِ لَعِزّاً
صَائِناً لِلنُّفُوسِ مِمَّا يُذِيلُ

63. And upon you be peace at dusk and mercy
That pours down like pouring rain

٦٣. مَنْصِبٌ حُفَّ بِالمَخَاطِرِ لَكِنْ
قَلَّمَا مُسْتَقِلُّهُ يَسْتَقِيلُ

64. If the living lasted for merit
You would have remained, but everything mortal perishes

شَ لِحِرْصٍ فِي النَّفْسِ رَأْيٌ أَصِيلُ

سَبْبُ مَنْ يقْتَنِيهِ وَالتَّنْويِلُ

٦٩. كَيْف بِالثْرْوةِ ابتَنَاها لِرهطٍ
شُحُّهُم والخِدَاعُ والتَّطْفِيلُ

٧٠. نَكبةُ الشَّرْقِ مُحْدِثونَ حَقِيقو
نَ بِأَنْ تَرجَح الدّبى وَيَشِيلُو

٧١. كُل جَمْعٍ مِنْهُمُ فِدى وَاحِدٍ
يَنْفَعُ وَالفَضْلُ أَيْنَ مِنْهُ الفُضُولُ

٧٢. لَيْتَ قَومِي لَهُمْ قلُوبٌ جرِيئَا
تٌ عَلَى ما تَدْعُو إِلَيهِ العُقُولُ

٧٣. لَمْ يكُونُوا إِذَنْ وَأَسقَطهُمْ أَرْ
فَعُهمْ وَالسمُوُّ فِيهِم سُفولُ

٧٤. وَغَرِيبُ الأَلقَابِ فِيهِم كَثِيرٌ
وَرحِيبُ الجَنَابِ فِيهِم قَلِيلُ

٧٥. وَالأجَلُّ الأجَلُّ مِنْهُم زَرِيٌّ
وَالأعَزُّ الأعزُّ مِنهُم ذَلِيلُ

٧٦. قَد مَضَى لاَ أَعادَهُ اللهُ عصْرٌ
عُبِدَت فِيهِ لِلنُّضَّارِ العُجُولُ

٧٧. خصَّ بِالقَدْرِ صَاحِبُ الوَفْرِ حَتَّى
وَهْوَ لِلصْخْرِ بِالجَفَاف مَثيلُ

٧٨. أَخَذَ النَّاسُ بِالتَّيَقُّظِ لِلوَا
جِبِ فَلْيَتَّعِظْ وَيصْحُ الغَفُولُ

٧٩. تَقْتَضِي الثَّرْوَةُ الزَّكَاةَ فَمَنْ جَا
دَ فَرَأْسٌ وَالمُمْسِكُونَ ذُيُولُ

٨٠. بَطَلَ الزورُ فَالغَبِيُّ غَبِيٌّ
رَغْمَ نَقْدَيهِ وَالجَهُولُ جَهُولُ

٨١. وَاخْتِلاَسُ التَّبْجِيلِ فِي غَيْرِ شَيءٍ
عَادَ ذَنْباً لَهٍ عِقَابٌ ثَقِيلُ

٨٢. إِنَّ مَن أَفْسَدَ النِّظَامَ وَمَنْ ها
جَ عَلَيْهِ الطَّغَامَ لَهُوَ البَخِيلُ

٨٣. وَأَحطُّ الشُّعُوبِ ذَاكَ الَّذِي
يُعْذَرُ فِيهِ المُقَتِّرُ المَرْذُولُ

٨٤. قِيلَ خَيَّاطُ يَبْتَغِي الحَمْدَ أَجْراً
آفَةُ المَأْثُرَاتِ هَذَا القِيلُ

٨٥. كلُّ نَوْعٍ مِنَ العَطَاءِ لَهُ حُسْنٌ
وَخَيْرٌ أَلاَّ يُذَاعَ الجَميلُ

٨٦. لَكِنِ الشُّكْرُ وَاجِبٌ وَفَسَادٌ
فِي مَعَانِيهِ ذَلِكَ التَّأوِيلُ

٨٧. أَوَ مَا صَحَّ أَنْ فِي كُلِّ عَصرٍ
أَنْذَرَ النَّاسِ مُحْسِنٌ مَجْهُولُ

٨٨. سُدَّ مَا اسطَعْتَ مِنْ مَفَاقِرَ وامْنَعْ
عِرْضَ حُرٍّ سِتَارُهُ مَسْدُولُ

٨٩. وأْسُ جُرْحِ المِسْكِينِ وَامْسَحْ قَذَاهُ
أَنَا بِالحَمْدِ مَا اشْتَهَيْتَ كَفِيلُ

٩٠. قَدْ تَقَاضَى اللهُ الثْنَاءَ مِنَ
العَبْدِ فَمَاذَا يَقُولُ فِيهِ العَذُولُ

٩١. وَلِمَاذَا نَفْخ المَلاَئِكِ فِي الصُّو
رِ وَفِيمَ التَّسْبِيحُ وَالتَّرْتِيلُ

٩٢. أَتُرَى كَانَ خَالِقُ الخَلْقِ مِمَّنْ
يَسْتَخِفُّ التَّزْمِيرُ وَالتَّطْبِيلُ

٩٣. سُنَّةُ سنَّهَا يُرِيدُ هُدَى الخَلْقِ
بِهَا وَاخْتِلاقُهَا تَضلِيلُ

٩٤. عُدْ إِلى اللهِ يَا خَلِيلُ فَمَا
يَنْتَقِصُ الشُّكْرَ عِنْدَه تَعْلِيلُ

٩٥. قَدْ تَبَدَّلَتَ بِالفَنَاءِ خُلُوداً
فِي نَعِيمٍ وَحُبَّ ذَاكَ البَدِيلُ

٩٦. فَعَزَاءً يَا أُمَّةً غَابَ عَنْهَا
وَجْهُهَا السَّمْحُ وَالرَّئِيسُ الجَلِيلُ

٩٧. وَعَزَاءً يَا خَيْرَ زَوْجٍ شَجَاهَا
بَاقِيَ العُمْرِ أَنْ يَبِينَ الخَلِيلُ

٩٨. وَعَزَاءً يَا فَاقِدَيْ خَيْرَ صِنْوٍ
لَكُمَا بَعْدَهُ البَقَاءُ الطَّوِيلُ

٩٩. وَعَزَاءً يَا صَحْبَهُ فِي أَخٍ قَدَّ
مْتُمُوهُ وَكَانَ نَعْمَ الزَّمِيلُ

١٠٠. وعَلَيْكَ السَّلاَمُ فِي الرَّمْسِ وَالرَّ
