1. O paradise, you brought me peace
You gifted me coolness for my heart and tranquility
١. يَا جَنَّةً أَهْدَتْ إِلَيَّ سَلاما
أَهْدَيْتِ بَرْداً لِلحَشَى وَسَلامَا
2. You sat enthroned in the highest spot
With glory and reverence, refusing blame
٢. فِي العِدْوَةِ العُلْيَا جَلَسْتِ مَلِيكَةً
بِالعِزِّ وَالإِجْلالِ تَأْبَى الذَّامَا
3. You unfurled over the meadows your banner of pride
And your tents stretched over the dunes
٣. بَسَطَتْ عَلَى العَبْرَيْنِ رَايَةَ فَخْرِهَا
وَعَدَا الأَجَارِعَ فَيْئُهَا وَتَرَامَى
4. You brought your blessed valley the dew
And rode the peak of glory sublime
٤. أَجْرَيْتِ وَادِيكِ المُبَارَكَ بِالنَّدَى
وَرَكِبْتِ مِنْ مَتْنِ الفَخَارِ سَنَامَا
5. In every splendid vista your beauty shines
Scattering wonders, composing harmony
٥. فِي كُلِّ مُشْتَرَفٍ جَمَالُكِ رَائِعٌ
نَثَرَ البَدِيعَ وَصَاغَ مِنْهُ نِظَامَا
6. Upon your cedars is a forest
That revives souls and heals the sick
٦. وَعَلَى ذُرَاكِ مِنَ الصُّنُوبَرِ غَابَةٌ
تُحْيِي النُّفُوسَ وَتُبْرِيءُ الأَسْقَامَا
7. He who rests in its shade, divinely inspired
Is cast over by its shading, filled with visions
٧. مَنْ يَسْتَظِلُّ بِهَا وَلَيْسَ بِمُلْهَمٍ
تُلْقِي عَلَيْهِ ظِلالُهَا الإِلْهَامَا
8. You came from a safe, good land
Well-designed are your dwellings, pleasant is the stay
٨. حُييْتِ مِنْ بَلَدٍ أَمِينٍ طَيِّبٍ
حَسُنَتْ مَرَابِعُهُ وَطَابَ مُقَامَا
9. Where loved ones are welcomed in spacious homes
The meadows lush, the mornings bright
٩. يَلْقَى الأَحِبَّةَ بِالمَنَازِلِ رَحْبَةً
وَالرَّوْضُ نَضْراً وَالضُّحَى بَسَّامَا
10. They enjoy it, in good times and bad
As you know, they are generous, they remain
١٠. أَهْلُوهُ فِي حُلْوِ الزَّمَانِ وَمُرِّهِ
لا يَبْرَحُونَ كَمَا عَرَفْتَ كِرَامَا
11. None I've known but wise and cultured
Or striving, daring, bold
١١. لَمْ أُلْفِ إِلاَّ عَاقِلاً مُتَأَدِّباً
فِيهِمْ وَإِلاَّ سَاعِياً مِقْدَامَا
12. They've given new glories their due
And guarded the honor of old ways
١٢. مَنَحُوا الجَدِيدَ مِنَ المَفَاخِرِ حَقَّهُ
وَرَعَوْا لِعَهْدِهِمُ القَدِيمِ ذِمَامَا
13. Their ambitions set on high goals
Channeling the good, nurturing fellow men
١٣. هِمَمٌ إِلَى غَايَاتِهَا وَثَّابَةٌ
تُجْرِي الصَّفَا وَتُنَضَّرُ الآكَامَا
14. The prudent among them achieve
What they desire, excelling in deeds
١٤. تَبْغِي النَّجَاحِ سَبِيلُهُ مَشْرُوعَةٌ
وَتُجَانِبُ الأَوْزَارَ وَالآثَامَا
15. They build and plant, never fall short
In duty or overspeak their part
١٥. فِي كُلِّ مَيْمُونِ النَّقِيبَةِ حَازِمٍ
يَأْتِي المَسَاعِي مَا أَرَدْنَ جِسَامَا
16. A people, young and old alike
Who grow and prosper, thanks to your grace
١٦. يَبْنِي وَيَغْرِسُ لا يُقَصِّرُ عَنْ مَدَى
فِي المَطْلَبَيْنِ وَلا يُطِيلُ كَلامَا
17. I praise them, loyally grateful
Though words hardly match my esteem
١٧. قَوْمٌ بِمِثْلِ شَبَابِهِمْ وَشُيُوخِهِمْ
يُنْمِي وَيُسْعِدُ رَبَّكَ الأَقْوَامَا
18. All welcomed me, starting with the president
And director, both noble in rank
١٨. أُثْنِي عَلَيْهِمْ وَالوَفَاء بِشُكْرِهِمْ
مِمَّا يَعِزُّ عَلَى القَرِيضِ مَرَامَا
19. Those visiting from distant lands
Honored me greatly with their presence
١٩. قَدْ أَكْرَمُونِي مُقْبِلِينَ وَكُلهُمْ
أَوْلَى بِأَنْ يَتَقبَّلَ الإِكْرَامَا
20. They have ennobled affection's worth
Glorifying the page and the pen
٢٠. وَأَخُصُّ بِالمَدْحِ الرَّئِيسَ مُقَدَّماً
فِيهِمْ بِحَقٍّ وَالمُدِيرَ هُمَامَا
