1. O you whom I praised when choosing companions,
Help me in testing my friends.
١. يَا مَنْ حَمِدْتُ بِهِ اخْتِيَا
رِي في اَخْتِبَارِي للِصِّحَابِ
2. Youth is adorned when Muhammad
Represents his generation, the highest example.
٢. زَهِيَ الشَّبَابُ بِأَنْ يُعَرِّ
بَ عَنْهُمُ زَيْنُ الشَّبَابِ
3. The noble son of the noble one,
Or the clouds, son of clouds.
٣. وَبِأَنْ يَنُوبَ مُحَمَّدٌ
عَنْ جِيلِهِ أَسْمَى مَنَابِ
4. Praiseworthy son of Muhammad,
Man of difficult situations and trials.
٤. نَجْلُ الْكَرِيمِ ابنِ الْكَرِيـ
ـمِ أَوِ السَّحَابُ ابْنُ السَّحَابِ
5. The purest of the pure
In status and in estrangement.
٥. مَحْمُودٌ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ
رَجُلِ المُلِمَّاتِ الصِّعَابِ
6. Your good news, O Egypt, and what good news
With the clement and highborn lad.
٦. مَنْ كَانَ أَصْفَى أَصْفِيَا
ئِي فِي المُقَامِ وَالاغْتَرَابِ
7. The free writer and the lawyer, not the flatterer,
You will see the realization of hopes from your wishes.
٧. بَشْرَاكِ مَصْرُ وَأَيُّ بَشْـ
ـرَى بِالْفَتَى السِّمْحِ الْجَنَابِ
8. Reason, glory, honor, and the mind of the discerning
Have not gathered except when the distant draws near the seekers.
٨. بِالْكَاتِبِ الحر الْجَرِي
ءِ وَبِالمُحَامِي لاَ المُحَابِي
٩. سَتَرَيْنَ تَحْقِيقَ الجَلاَ
ئِلِ مَنْ رَغَائِبِكِ الرِّغَابِ
١٠. أَلْعَقْلُ وَالْجَاهُ الْعَرِيـ
ـضُ وَعِزَّةُ الشَّرَفِ اللُّبَابِ
١١. لَمْ تَجْتَمِعْ إِلاَّ وَقَدْ
قَرُبَ الْبَعِيدُ مِنَ الطِّلاَبِ
