1. His light shone, so greet Muhammad,
His mention has come to life, immortalized.
١. تَجَلَّى مُحَيَّاهُ فَحَيُّوا مُحَمَّدَا
وَقَدْ آبَ فِي ذِكْرَاهُ حَيّاً مُخَلَّدَا
2. The Lord of the Throne unveiled Himself to him,
And he was a shadow, protected from harm.
٢. نَضَتْ يَدُرَبِّ العَرْشِ عَنْهُ حِجَابَهُ
وَكَانَ عَلَى التِّمْثَالِ ظِلاًّ مِنَ الرَّدَى
3. The oppressed were done justice during his glory,
So his Master returned his favors, magnified.
٣. لَقَدْ أُنْصِفَ المَظْلُومُ إِبَّانَ مَجْدِهِ
فَعَادَ بِمَا أَوْلاَهُ مَوْلاَهُ أَمْجَدَا
4. By God, Omar is no miser,
Making the children of the country happy, he is happy.
٤. فَلِلَّهِ فَارُوقٌ وَمَا هُوَ بَاذِلٌ
لِيُسْعِدَ أَبْنَاءَ البِلاَدِ فَيَسْعَدَا
5. No ruler owns the feast day,
Rather it is a feast when the people celebrate.
٥. وَما العِيدُ أَنْ يَخْتَصَّ بِالبِشْرِ عَاهِلٌ
وَلَكِنَّه عِيدٌ إِذَا الشَّعبُ عَيَّدَا
6. Live long, pride of the East, not just Egypt,
Be forever the supported, victorious King.
٦. فَعِشْ يَا عَزِيزَ الشَّرْقِ لا مِصْرَ وَحْدَهَا
وَكُنْ أَبَدَ الدَّهْرِ المَلِيكَ المْؤَيَّدَا
7. So today I judge on behalf of a traveler,
A right over Egypt, that was nearly worn out, so renew it.
٧. وَإِذْناً فَإِنِّي اليَوْمَ أَقْضِي لِرَاحِلٍ
عَلَى مِصْرَ حَقّاً كَادَ يَبْلَى فَجُدِّدا
