1. The eyes of beauty, those virtues and sublimity,
No station adorns with them, nor a wrap,
١. عُيُونُ الْحُلَى تِلْكَ المَنَاقِبُ وَالعُلَى
فَمَا رُتْبَةٌ تَحْلَى بِهَا وَوِشَاحُ
2. But the blessings of kings, as you can see,
Came profuse, and within you is generosity.
٢. وَلَكِنَّ آلاَءَ المُلُوكِ كَمَا تَرى
أَتَتْ مُسْتَفِيضَاتٍ وَفِيكَ سَمَاحُ
3. Behold, ornaments when adorned with meanings
As the souls desire, allure.
٣. أَلاَ حُبَّت الزِّينَاتُ إِنْ كُسِيَتْ بِهَا
مَعَانٍ كَمَا تَهْوَى النُّفوسُ مِلاَحُ
4. And the love of a youth, when it appeared in the brilliance of his pride,
As the dawn appeared in the sky's brilliance.
٤. وَحُبَّ الفَتَى إِنْ لاَحَ فِي وَشْيِ فَخْرِهِ
كَمَا لاَحَ فِي وَشْيِ الغَمَامِ صَبَاحُ

Does Egypt delay the reward of its minister?
٥. أَتُبْطِيءُ مِصْرٌ عَنْ ثَوَابِ وَزِيرِهَا
وَمَا عَهْدُهُ إِلاَّ نَدىً وَفَلاَحُ
6. His era is nothing but bounty and prosperity.
My lord, devote yourself to glory, you are its guide,
٦. أَمَولاَيَ دُمْ لِلْمَجْدِ أَنْتَ لَهُ نُهىً
وَأَنْتَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ وَأَنْتَ جَنَاحُ
7. You are its heart, and you are its wing.
٧. لَئِنْ لَمْ يُتَحْ لِي أَنْ أَرَاكَ مُهنِّئاً
لَقَدْ يُمْنَعُ المَأمُولُ ثُمَّ يُتَاحُ
