1. She who revealed herself to Ali begot
For knowledge the finest pearls in its necklace

2. She raised him in virtues and nobility
So through her praise the eulogizer praises him

3. There is no innovation if grief spreads in her absence
A homeland fulfilling for the benevolent as was its wont

4. So he walked behind the bier in her funeral procession
The elite leaders and choice soldiers of his troops

5. She gave him from her blood and tears of her eyes
The purest pride of his glories and most distinguished son

6. And built for him with her care and pillows
That pillar among the pillars of his glory

7. O Exalted One, will you collapse in despair
When medicine has given you what was in its limit

8. If medicine does not avail her except its effort
What is upon you, and that is the extent of its effort

9. The matter is God's affair, whether He hastens or
Delays, and no scheme of His servant exceeds Him

10. Have you not been hurt such that no hand can heal
So the wounds of your soul by seeing her are from Him

11. It suffices the deceased to meet her Lord
And be rewarded with good in bliss and eternity
