١. فِي صَرْحِ يُوسُفَ لِلأَحِبَّةِ لَيْلَةٌ
سَيُعِيدُ ذِكْرَى حُسْنِهَا السُّمَّارُ
2. It gathered Egypt's glories in its dignitaries
So it contained the dignitaries of the lands
٢. جَمَعَتْ مَفَاخِرَ مِصْر فِي أَقْطَابِهَا
فَهمُ الدِّيَارُ قَدِ احْتَوَتْهَا دَارُ
3. Its visitors are the essence of time, barely
In its expanse, the visitors commune
٣. زُوَّارُهَا مِلْءُ الزَّمَانِ وَلَمْ يَكَدْ
فِيْ رَحْبِها يَتَرَاحَمُ الزُوَّارُ
4. What fine witnesses for a speech that thrilled
Their hearing and delighted the sights
٤. نِعْمَ الشُّهُودُ لِخُطْبَةٍ طُرِبَتْ بِهَا
أَسْمَاعُهُمْ وأُقِرَّتِ الأَبْصَارُ
5. Wondrous is your magic, O sky, for we see
The blossoms of stars, all of them splendid
٥. عَجَباً لِسِحْرِكِ يَا سَمَاءُ فَقَدْ نَرَى
زَهْرَ النُّجُومِ وَكُلُهُنَّ مُعَارُ
6. Wondrous is your bounty, O meadows, for here
Is the verdure of roses and their fragrant scent
٦. عَجَباً لِجَوْدِكِ يَا رِياضُ فَهَهُنَا
نَضْرُ الوُرُودِ وَنَفْحُها الْمِعْطَارُ
7. Wondrous is your singing, O songstresses, what can
The birds do after this singing of yours
٧. عَجَباً لِشَدْوِكَ يَا مَعَارِفُ مَا الَّذِي
مِنْ بَعْدِ هَذَا تُحْسِنُ الأَطْيَارُ
8. Wondrous are your clothes, O silk, and it's good
That your touches have shaped such effects
٨. عَجَباً لِلِبْسِكَ يَا حَرِيرُ وَحَبَّذَا
مَا صَوَّرَتْ مِنْ لَمْسِكَ الآثَارُ
9. Tell those who find fault in you, chastity is
In the soul, not the covers
٩. قُلْ لِلأُولى يَجِدُونَ فِيكَ مَذَمَّةً
إِنَّ العِفَافَ النَّفْسُ لا الأَسْتارُ
10. The little maids guard around a unique one
Like a necklace designed with chosen pearls
١٠. الخِرِّدُ الخَفِرَاتُ حَوْلَ فَرِيدَةٍ
كَالعِقْدِ صِيْغَ وَدُرُّهُ مُخْتَارُ
11. And the unique one in the necklace glows with jewelry
From the best with which maidens glow
١١. وَفَرِيدَةٌ فِي الْعِقْدِ تَزْهُو بِالْحِلى
مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا تَزْهُو بِهِ الأبْكارُ
12. A being like the shaping of dolls, appearing in
Its features for its intelligence are lights
١٢. خَلْقٌ كَتصْويرِ الدُّمَى تَبْدُو عَلى
قَسَمَاتِهِ لِذَكَائِهَا أَنْوَارُ
13. She combines the qualities of her parents, so
In her gathered stunning grace and dignity
١٣. جَمَعَتْ مَعَانِيَ وَالِدَيْها فالْتَقَى
فِيها جَمَالٌ رَائِعٌ وَوِقَارُ
14. Good tidings to her suitor, and her tidings of him
The fates have been equal in sharing
١٤. بُشْرَى لِخَاطِبِهَا وَبُشْرَاهَا بِهِ
قَدْ عَادَلَتْ فِي الْقِسْمَةِ الأَقْدَارُ
15. What a fine young man with his intelligence and knowledge
That a vibrant origin makes thrive
١٥. نِعْمَ الْفَتَى بِذَكَائِهِ وَبِعِلْمِهِ
يَنْمِيهِ أَصْلٌ فِي الأُصُولِ نُضَارُ
16. The perfect couple is the essence of good life that they meet
No discontent in fate could embitter for them
١٦. كُفُؤَانِ صَفْوَ الْعَيْشِ أَنْ يَتَلاقَيَا
لا نَغَّصَتْهُ عَلَيْهما الأَقْدَارُ
