1. O Egypt, you are home and dwelling,
A sanctuary protecting souls, entrusted.

2. My love for you is like your integrity,
Love resides where hearts are hostage.

3. My being is filled with what it gained,
The day it preserved and inhaled.

4. That passion is every youth’s secret,
Among us, settled in Egypt, known and hidden.

5. It is gratitude for what you granted and denied,
Lest you embitter your favor and gifts.

6. It is a trait that in our hearts has been purified,
Lest doubts taint its clarity.

7. What land is like Egypt that never ceased,
To be a meadow where hopes are tied?

8. In it is serenity without any bitterness,
In it is the sky without any branches.

9. Egypt whose growths are not deceitful,
Nor is there impurity in its waters.

10. Egypt whose gardens are ever melodious,
Where no branch strips bare.

11. Egypt whose people's morals are a flower,
Watered by the passing cloud's drizzle.

12. Egypt whose ethics are rich gatherings,
Where honey and milk pour forth.

13. The vulgar claim her virtues weaken powers,
And her gardens are ruined.

14. But it is she whose honor nations have known,
And time recognizes her glory.

15. Her sons, elders who never forget,
Egypt’s right, though years accumulate.

16. Their passion for her in their hearts kindled,
Like burning embers even if buried.

17. They inherit her sufferings and through them,
Ordeals shall be dispelled from her sides.

18. Their faith held fast so no incident,
However majestic, makes it bend.

19. By God, may He steady them when,
In her, hardships and blessings vie and contend.

20. The voice of integrity and loyalty called,
So resolves and minds responded.

21. A voice from the valley echoes back,
Repeated by supporters and canyons.

22. The soul of the country awoke, so there flowed,
What the eye and ear magnified.

23. The paths poured with men, till
Her plains were flooded by cities.

24. A flow of volunteers overflowing forth,
From where it abounds, stored and hidden.

25. From each one wearing his homeland’s passion,
Or his shroud, hastening.

26. He stakes his life on its dignity, so if
It is disgraced, his life holds no value.

27. Brotherhood prevails over the masses, no
Ranks to distinguish them, or vocations.

28. Factions grew close, hearts brought near,
Environments and tongues drew together.

29. Not race or even faith separates them,
And the future stretches before them spacious.

30. Harmony and strong peace appear,
Wherever guards and seditions are absent.

31. So if resentment surfaces in a stance,
That resentment no longer holds an opinion.

32. The people, if their solidarity proves true,
In achieving the heights of glory lies success.

33. Each says, though his words contain no
Falsehood, nor is there cowardice in his heart.

34. O precious homeland, for you we ransom,
Our wealth, soul, and body.

35. From you, dignity and existence together,
So if you lose them, there is no sorrow.

36. Greetings O blessed bond,
That has tightened and whose weakness will not be found.

37. Welcome people of merit and nobility,
In them piety, knowledge, and eloquence.

38. Those who advise and their advice is effective,
Those who call and their call is tradition.

39. The best inviters to accord are those
Who act as law and tradition necessitate.

40. They strove with effort that cannot be matched,
In value, praise highly transcending weight.

41. With the good of what they did and raised,
Harmony won and animosities lost.

42. Wise ones, if their nation faces a need,
For its most delicate matters they are adept.

43. Al-Azhar, the most splendid, it has favors,
That are great, while gifts below it are favors.

44. So may Egypt live, and its nation thrive,
And may it rise to the height of bliss, O homeland!
