1. When you describe his virtues and merits
Remember his kindness to the workers

2. And his fulfilling their needs and defending
Their rights in the face of the wealthy

3. And his struggle against those who exploit their efforts
Unjustly and without meaning, the worst exploitation

4. So when he repays them for the surplus they earned for him
He counts what he gave as generosity

5. Ignoring the consequences of his greed as though
There were no reckoning like Judgment Day

6. From which claw too harsh to endure, which talon
Did the resolute protect the prey of neglect?

7. It is enough up to the day the meadow’s steeds are freed
And the gorged predator, the worst of fighting.

8. Seeking to do them justice and preparing
For them and the children the best outcome

9. He cares for their weak children so they might rise
In knowledge, manners and excellent traits

10. Until when they grow up they take their due
With guidance, not having been misguided
