1. Noble ambitions, perilous though you be,
Thus does the knight of valor and minister fare,

2. He who envies your glory cannot really harm you,
Yet in his ignorance, he makes the land suffer.

3. But God, Most Generous, has protected you,
And made powerless the hands of the many who envied you,

4. Integrity and protection are owed to all mankind,
With them calamity's danger may be averted.

5. Noblest defender is he who earliest came to its defense,
And postponed responding to his Lord's command.

6. You have never ceased to be the land's trusted guardian.
So peace and security are yours, while fears are groundless.

7. Opinions may sometimes conflict, but
Passion is mercy, righteousness and good.

8. Love is single, though intentions toward it vary,
Is there any fault in its diversity?

9. O you who come seeking generosity and kindness,
The Most High, All Powerful salutes you.

10. For you are the fellowship of success, worthy
Of the loftiest ideals, and your efforts are renowned.

11. The breast of leadership was freely given to you,
Your courage and valor are well known.

12. You are Abd al-Hadi. You are the just ruler among the people,
And the brilliant star shining in the gathering.
