1. With God's fresh care rejoice, glad tidings bear,
It came after salvation, doubling the care,

2. Of your Lord, the All-Mighty, so praise the grace,
Of your Lord, my king, in all that shows and awaits.

3. See, my lord, your Arab nation truthful in its passion for you,
A people made free whose misery you relieved,

4. Honoring them, raising them in themselves,
When they devote themselves to your love, they are most deserving.

5. You reformed them and their wellbeing
with the gentle wisdom of the prudent.

6. Glory to Him who gave you a cloud's generosity,
And the radiance of a sun, and a lion's awe.

7. It suffices that through you the Levant
Became the center of Arabness, its nomads and settled folk.

8. Its kingdoms yearn for you, and they saw
In your hands the banner of greatest unity.

9. Never forgotten are your kind deeds that spared
Lebanon the assault of the most heinous aggression.

10. How alike are the great Farooqs,
Earlier or later in time.

11. The virtuous ruler, model and guide
For every praiser and glorifier.

12. He diligently tended to religious affairs, coming
To uplift the status of Al-Azhar.

13. Does Egypt need something to elevate it
In laboratory or any aspect unfulfilled?

14. The classes wonder which of them
Won the most bounty and favor.

15. In governance and judiciary, no official
but drew light from that illumination.

16. In every part of the state, he rules
and all parts issue from one source.

17. He cultivated knowledge and arts, and which of them
did not flourish in his shade and through his merit?

18. He lent athletics in all its forms
meaning, enthusiasm, unwavering determination.

19. He fulfilled the best economic treasures, agriculture
and industry with unflagging resolve.

20. He completed the army, its order now
the finest example of military discipline.

21. With legions and more, capable of victory even if not victorious.
As for the commoners, their king ennobled them

22. with feats none other performed.
The bounties seemed too many, but they were from you,

23. my lord, deemed never excessive.
You provided them from your Nile water pure

24. for those who come, and sweet as Kawthar.
You fed them, clothed them, sheltered them,

25. and relieved the illnesses of the destitute sick.
You roused the spirits of all hopeful youths,

26. and showered kindnesses on every elder.
The king's generosity, how song enhances it!

27. And how his judiciousness has multiplied it!
He gave villages to city dwellers and villages,

28. for with God the holy months are the best months.
The students delighted in the green pavilion of his feast,

29. where the eye beholds the most beautiful scene,
and the mouth tastes the most delicious food.

30. Spurred by welcome are the resolute,
and hopes stir the hesitant.

31. This is the bounty that none can surpass,
no merit beyond it, no pride.

32. Great Farooq, live long, attain the heights,
achieve whatever hopes you wish.

33. Let the world delight in your progeny
and may succession continue in your noble line.
