١. إِلى اِبنِ يَزيد الخَيرِ باتَت مَطِيَّتي
بِسَورانَ تَبلوها المَطايا وَتَبتَلي

٢. تَشَكّى أَظَلَّيها وَتَملو كَأَنَّها
نَجاةُ غطاطٍ آخرَ اللَيلِ مُجفِلِ

٣. ظَعائِنُ مِن قَيسِ بنِ عَيلانَ أَشحَصَت
بِهِنَّ النَوى إِنَّ النَوى ذاتُ مغوَلِ

When the sturdy male is too dignified to overflow.

٤. يُحَيّونَ فَيّاضَ النَدى مُتَفَضِّلاً
إِذا التَرِحُ المنّاعُ لِم يَتَفَضَّلِ

5. Then after that time has passed, a time of separation,
And a tribesman has kindled a fire with every kind of kindling,

٥. فَعادَ زَمانٌ بَعدَ ذاكَ مُفَرِّقٌ
وَأَشعَلَ وَليٌ مِن نَوى كُلَّ مِشعَلِ

6. With a dyed garment whose train covers the shoulders -
Its weaving was for Dawood, it has not been worn threadbare -

٦. وَتسبغَةٍ يَغشى المَناكِبَ ريعُها
لِداودَ كانَت نَسجُها لَم يُهَلهَلِ

7. The one with the oath, then the meadow, the meadow of Falajah,
With its tall palm trees of every 'Ays and Ghaytal.

٧. فَذي حَلِفٍ فَالرَوضِ رَوضِ فلاجَةٍ
فَأَجزاعِهِ مِن كُلِّ عيصٍ وَغَيطَلِ
