1. The sons of Talha have been scented with the dew,
When glory and nobility have scented their gathering,

2. So their past falls short of their day in nobility,
And their day is envious of their future in virtue.

3. Their small one is like their elder in attaining elevation,
Whoever meets them, says I have met their master.
