1. O Raym, I have no other concern but love
And the soul's end is where the shy eyes dwell
١. يا رِيمُ ما لِيَ إِلّا بالهَوى شُغُلُ
فَمُنْيةُ النَّفْسِ حَيْثُ الأَعْيُنُ النُّجُلُ
2. Had it not been for you, my tears would not have flooded
With unrelenting tears that grief did not send
٢. لَولاكَ ما غَرِقَتْ في الدَّمْعِ إِذْ أَرِقَتْ
مَدامِعٌ لَمْ يُغازِلْها الكَرى هُطُلُ
3. And my heart shows restraint when I pull it
Toward composure, but my tears are hasty
٣. وَبِالفُؤادِ أَناةٌ حينَ أَجْذِبُهُ
إِلى السُّلوِّ وَلكنْ أَدْمُعي عُجُلُ
4. So who can cry in yearning for a land
In which I stayed, though the roads to it are blocked?
٤. فَمَنْ لِصَبٍّ بَكى شَوْقاً إِلى بَلَدٍ
أَقَمْتُ فيهِ وَسُدَّتْ دُونَهُ السُّبُلُ
5. When the morning breeze blows, read my greetings
For it has none but the morning breeze as messengers
٥. إِذا الصَّبا نَسَمَتْ فَاقْرَأْ تَحِيَّتَهُ
فَما لَهُ غَيْرُ أَنْفاسِ الصَّبا رُسُلُ
