1. Do you see what wrongs he has committed?
In his heart burns the fire of regret.

2. In times of hardship, my nature inclines to forgiveness.
And in times of hardship, your forgiveness inclines.

3. Woe to him whose faults you concealed!
If on the Day of Judgment they are exposed.

4. If I present my wrongdoings to you,
who do I have if you do not forgive with kindness?

5. Do you think you would punish a Muslim whose tongue
Proclaims your Oneness sincerely?

6. If the burden of sins weighs down his back,
Then by your grace the burdens are lifted from him.

7. By God, the pillar does not cease weeping,
And for none but you do his hopes aspire.

8. So accept or reject or distance yourself,
An ally who stays with you when you are distant.

9. I will persist seeking you hopefully,
That my persistence in adherence succeeds.

10. The saved have appealed to your pleasure
And stood at the gates of hope knocking.

11. A fearful one whom his sins have ruined,
And a lover who openly proclaims his passion for you.

12. So forgive him what wrongs he has done, and be to this one
For his heart is wounded by arrows of separation from you.

13. My tongue falls silent from speech in awe,
And my gestures signal what I wish.
