1. To you we traveled, not for meadow or institute
For you are the place of intimacy in every scene

2. We made the horses of determination tears and sighs
Thus we became, and the flags of homestead at watch

3. We roam in the desert of passion for your love awhile
And longing drives us awhile so we are guided

4. When the doves cooed in the bushes
I longed for you, not for the voice of the singer

5. And if the lovers one day visited a meadow
For me at that place is a sweeter meadow

6. And if the racers bared blades of determination
You, even if delayed, are my intended destination

7. And if they drew near in love, nearing you
My soul is my offering and my love, my courtship

8. When the guide of the caravan called at Mashmash
I remembered the one whose promise was clear

9. Indeed I stayed until my state in passion
Could be lamented for what I face from enviers

10. So who is there in the flowing of tears, sorrow and grief
And confiding complaints of my conscience made happy

11. The comfort of the longing is only their tears
When unable to bear the burden of patience in love

12. I will make wiping the tears my task and habit
Perhaps I will be granted union made new

13. So I flee to the Chosen One from Al-Hashim
To grant me what I hope for in nearing Ahmad

14. Renew the prayer, however much a bird prays
Upon the most pure, the intercessor Muhammad
