1. This is the crescent moon of fasting in Ramadan
It rose in the horizon, so do not be despondent

2. Welcome it as a guest, so treat it with respect
And make its nights for reciting the Quran

3. Fast during it, protect it, and value its days
And be kind to the poor with good deeds

4. Wash with it the stains of sins, striving
With tears flowing down your cheeks in devotion

5. It's no surprise that tears erase sins
Pouring on the cheek what the sinner committed

6. God has sincere people who were purified
From the harm of loss and abandonment

7. They abandoned their beds and stood up at night
And pleaded with humility and submission

8. They stood with loyalty and rolled up
Their garments to serve the Judge

9. They rode the steeds of determination and endured adversity
And were guided by the confidant of passions

10. They leapt up with flames in their chests
From the tears of their eyelids

11. They made their souls content to serve their Lord
And so they succeeded in earning His approval

12. Even if you are not one of them, hopefully
Through their status you may gain God's satisfaction

13. Befriend them and make loving them incumbent
And make it in your life an evident duty

14. Oh how my soul yearns, if passion prevents me
From the racecourse that leads to the Merciful

15. Then I will shed tears of regret over
A life that passed in passion and hesitation

16. O Lord, with the chosen Ahmad, the best of
Those who gained virtues among the children of Adnan

17. Do not deprive me of the grace of the fasting month
Or make my dwelling Paradise and approval
