No slave should act this way

2. Wicked slave, you disobeyed out of ignorance
Neither promise nor threat dissuaded you

3. Your nights passed in playfulness
While you remained far from the right path

4. Alas for the life passing you by
Before I could attain what I desire

5. So my tears flow copiously
And the fire of my sorrow burns

6. Oh what anguish has settled in my heart
Its coals never cooling

7. Nights pass and my heart's sorrow
For what has slipped by is renewed

8. O my lords, while the intention is painful
And fierce longing has taken grip

9. Is there a way to be united with you
Now that obstacles have emaciated my body

10. It continues to yearn though distant
By your noble memory

11. How could one forget or find solace
When covenants have been fulfilled

12. Have mercy on a lover who has become gloomy
Sitting at your gates

13. If you do not mend my brokenness
Then who else can be so generous?

14. Favor the one who complains, draw near
Return to one distant, return

15. Your mercy is ally to the sorrow
Of one shackled by misery and grief

16. Since you left I have shed tears
Scarring my cheeks thinking of you

17. If you do not heal my sick soul
Then it will perish from longing

18. With a glance from you, my comfort
My hopes of bliss will be fulfilled

19. With your approval if you grant it
The roses will envy the one who arrives

20. Blessed is he who finds refuge in you
All existence envies his fortune
