1. Arise and call upon Allah in the darkness of nightfall,
Seek profits and ask for forgiveness, an avid seeker,

2. And be aware, the fragrant blossoms of contentment have appeared,
So ignite the lamp of righteous guidance that shone.

3. Oh you who travels souls by sorcery in the night,
What misfortune you have brought!

4. Recognize it if it comes after the blossoms
To revive the oppressed.

5. Rub your cheek and cry out with wailing,
Disregard your eyelids.

6. Stop at their melodies, hesitantly standing,
As the branches swayed.

7. Weep if the healer lends an ear,
To the illness of estrangement.

8. Maybe through reunion you will revive what lies buried
And joy will be sweetened.

9. Intentions are not necessarily fulfilled,
And distance is painful.

10. O Most Merciful of creation, have mercy
For I have come with a gracious welcome!

11. No servant has a more evil servant who intends
To complain of sins.

12. The one who on a day will be pelted with embers
From the breaths of hell―

13. By the guidance of the best of creation, bless me, O Most Merciful,
With goodness!

14. I remain between two dwellings,
Both have brought me misery.

15. My heart is filled with tears that are rarely
Comforted.

16. Yet my devotion to the Generous
Makes me feel delivered!

17. Now in both these states I am in danger,
Though my heart is sound.

18. It has followed the path of pure monotheism,
The ways of the Straight Path.

19. O companion of grief complains of estrangement
For the glory of the Noble One.

20. In the chambers of glory, you will attain your wish
Where the love of the Prophet resides.

21. There its echo will heal your heart.
Ask about the one who says:

22. “Would that I were a grain of sand on the seashore,
O my son, or flesh,

23. And that I would leave my eyes at dawn
For the land of Rome!”
