1. For Ahmad the moons sing praise
Count him pride and glory

2. And compose poems extolling him
And never cease his dignified grace

3. For Ahmad, full moon of the horizon
And sun of the highest traits

4. The fire of longing blazes
How can I scheme and manipulate

5. If the people of excellence
Won that ultimate perfection

6. And reached those lofty abodes
And attained being his neighbor

7. Still, in my heart the fire of thoughts
Has kindled its embers

8. O guide of the convoy convey from me
Eternal greetings of peace

9. And say a passionate love-sick one
Has become captive forever

10. The arrows of separation have silenced him
He found no supporter

11. Fate has sent him far away
And sorrow has stirred him

12. In the heart spanning the horizons
It kindles its fire

13. When the lightning’s gleam appears
From the bosom of Nejd

14. My longing calls me
And the excess of my passion

15. To the grave of the best of creation
I will strive with my utmost

16. Perhaps I may finish the distance
And attain visiting his tomb

17. So my transgressions will be erased
If I visit his land

18. O guide, my longing for Zamzam
With remembrance of the beloved

19. And my passionate fervor, lament
The fires of anguish

20. O tear of my eye, trace
The cheek of melancholy

21. Markings of lines remembering
The quarters his light illuminated

22. It was a light, the face of the Chosen One
So his minaret was the highest

23. O Lord, for the sake of the Chosen One
And his noble companions

24. Bring close the distance of my abode
From that honored station

25. And forgive the words of one insistent
Who sang consumed in infatuation

For the one showing the abode of Attar

27. At the lane of His light
My clothes and whatever is in my home
