Stinginess exceeding all bounds
١. لِمُحَسِّنِ بِنِ المِلحِ مَنزِلَةٌ
في البُخلِ خارِجَةٌ عَنِ الحَدِّ
2. Boorish whenever you see his face
You see the image of an ape
٢. سَمِجٌ إِذا شاهَدتَ صورَتَهُ
شاهَدتَ مِنها صورَةَ القِردِ
3. He avoids obligations due to his meanness
Breaking a promise is easier for him
٣. يَدَعُ المِطالَ لِضيقِ هِمَّتِهِ
أَولى مِنَ الإِنجازِ بِالوَعدِ
4. Everyone says the same about him
Don't think only I say this alone
٤. كُلُّ الأَنامِ تَقولُ فيهِ كَذا
لا تَحسَبَنّي قُلتُ ذا وَحدي
