1. O you whom I have wronged, though I acknowledge no wrong,
How many an ackowledger of wrong has escaped when he says what he did!
١. يا مَن جَنَيتُ عَلَيهِ ما أُقِرُّ بِهِ
وَكَم مُقِرٍّ نَجا إِذ قالَ ما فَعَلا
2. If you have no choice but to punish me,
Then chide me, but do not estrange me!
٢. إِن لَم يَكُن لَكَ بُدٌّ مِن مُعاقَبَتي
فَبِالعِتابِ فَأَمّا بِالصُدودِ فَلا
