1. He spoiled what was pleasing by his excess  
And disappointed hopes by his desertion 
١. كَدَّرَ ما راقَ بِإِسرافِهِ
 وَأَخلَفَ الظَنَّ بِإِخلافِهِ
2. Does the slender one beg for the glance of the youth  
If he is angry with his gentle manners?    
٢. أَهيَفُ يَستَعطِفُ لَحظَ الفَتى
 إِن كانَ غَضباناً بِأَعطافِهِ
3. When the bending one's wind raged   
The waves of his buttocks clashed 
٣. إِذا التَثَنّي عَصَفَت ريحُهُ
 تَلاطَمَت أَمواجُ أَردافِهِ
